FWIW, the long time democrat incumbent is retiring. With that said its a dem districted rated: +15 in favor of democrats. I assume that is the reason she is running unchallenged in the GOP primary so far.

I assume you mean betivolio's? Still the point remains; showing up is a big part of the battle. who is to say some scandal wouldn't hit Ecks general election opponent right before the voting begins?
