When all else seems to be failing Senator, just start quoting Ron Paul from about a decade ago (or more) on any foreign policy subject and as long as you move the words around a little, people might think that you just figured something out that's really smart! All by yourself!

    10,000 troops, for ten years.

That is just enough not to effectively lord over most of Afghanistan anymore with an iron fist. It isn't enough to compel them, no.
The Taliban or something equal, will have every argument available for securing public support, with that amount of invaders arrogantly remaining there.

It's just enough to likely impel people, into a push to drive us out completely, and to create further stern resentment toward us among another generation during that ten years.
It just enough people there to get themselves routinely killed if you ask me. That old saying "only enough to p.o." comes to mind when I think of this idea.
Enough to make an imperialist feel their little warm fuzzies for another decade maybe.

The point that us staying there another ten years clearly will accomplish nothing is completely correct, and the time to leave might as well be ancient history it was so long ago.

Properly understood, the mission was accomplished because the mission was to transfer hundreds of billions of dollars from the people into the pockets of crony-capitalists.

That is not true, we achieved spectacular success in changing Afghanistan... we just haven't been able to put it back the way it was before we started meddling in.

This was Afghanistan before US intervention there to fund/support/install jihadis:

The picture of Reagan posing with the Taliban and the quote, "These gentlemen are the moral equivalents of our Founding Fathers" is unfortunately wrong. He was actually talking about those nice Contra guerrillas gentlemen in Nicaragua. Hard to say which is weirder. I'm not getting detail picky on you, but when you show this stuff to some people that are awestruck by their televisions and your facts are not PERFECT and they find out they will annihilate you and try to eat you.

How can the photo be "wong", I think you are saying the caption with it is questionable? There are mutiple claims on that but it is probably not a material objecton because that is where you show this video to the nay-sayers:

I meant the quote was correct, but when he spoke it, he was speaking about the Nicaraguan Contras, and not the Taliban. I should have mentioned that.
