Shark Tank's Mr. Wonderful Comments on the 85 Richest People

I like him even more now.

During his CBC show on Monday, “Shark Tank” star and mega-wealthy investor Kevin O’Leary responded to a report that the 85 richest people in the world currently have as much wealth as the bottom half of the world’s population, calling it “fantastic news.”

“This is a great thing because it inspires everybody, gets them motivation to look up to the one percent and say, ‘I want to become one of those people, I’m going to fight hard to get up to the top.’ This is fantastic news and of course I applaud it. What can be wrong with this?” he said of the new report.

The guy is like a cartoon version of what every stupid Canadian thinks that a capitalist is. Asshat...

Unless they're forcibly taking the wealth with the help of governments (which some of them are) then I see nothing wrong with it either.

Just because some people have a lot doesn't mean they took anything from those that had less. Its not a zero sum game.

It's symptomatic of the mega corporatism that engulfs this planet... you'd have to be blind not to see that...

I wish he would have touched on that point. Liberals seem to think you only become rich by stealing stuff from others.

There is no way that things would be possibly close to this top-heavy if we had anything resembling a free-market on this planet. I'm happy for those who earned their wealth, but it is incredibly sad to know that so many more are suffering so much. Gloating about it like everyone is free to become just as wealthy is sick on a sociopathic level.

I think that in this world, to attain that amount of riches, you have to buy of politicians, regulators and some other dirty hijacking of the govt system to do it. And I don't necessarily blame them when their competition is doing just the same.

Sure, it probably wouldn't be this uneven but that isn't the point. The left is using stats like this because they believe inequality is wrong. Even if it weren't the 85 richest people, but instead it was the 50 million richest people, the left would still be pointing to the "income inequality" like that is the problem, which it isn't. So I have no problem with what he said.

This is a very good video to use to counter the left propaganda that govt intervention, redistribution is the solution to ending inequality.

Again, gloating about it like no problem exists and like every starving person is totally free to become a millionaire is the type of completely irrational and insensitive $#@! that fuels these retard socialists. NOT helpful in any way whatsoever.

I do have a problem with this, because he fails to point out those little facts that others in this topic have pointed out.

I'm willing to bet that if I researched every single person on that list, I'd find a bunch of corrupt individuals who bought out countries, governments, politicians, and citizens just to attain that massive amount of wealth.

There is no free market today, it is literally impossible for them to have attained that kind of wealth without heavy dabbling in the realm of politics, and I'm not talking about simply donating to or supporting groups or voting either.
