California Democrats push 'comprehensive' background checks for ammo purchases

Following the passage of a lead ammunition ban and a plethora of new gun control laws in 2013, California Democrats now say they will push for "comprehensive" background checks on all ammunition purchases in the state.
According to The Washington Post, CA State Senator Kevin de Leon (D) said, "Anyone can walk into any gun store, a bait and tackle store, and purchase all the ammunition they want to, no questions asked."

He said it ought not be so: "The ammunition is the fuel that feeds the violence. The gun itself, the hand gun or long gun or the high-powered weapon is the delivery device. The gas, the fuel, is the ammunition, and no one knows who buys it."
As Breitbart News reported on December 28, "comprehensive" background checks on gun purchases in CA ended private gun sales and led to a firearm registry in that state. Confiscation laws are also in place.

Similar background checks on ammunition will result in an end to private ammunition sales and will likewise lead to a registry of ammunition purchasers. This will allow anti-gunners to fill in gaps in their records as they try to calculate where every gun is and where every law-abiding gun owner lives.
State Senate President Darrell Steinberg (D) said if anyone thought CA lawmakers were finished pushing gun control measures, they were wrong: "Our work's not done there."

No surprise for commiefornia. Recall also the federal EPA cracking down on lead smelters leading to zero lead production remaining int he US today, as well as the 'grassroots' proposals to require that all ammunition be serialized from the factory, or the more popular proposal to make special firing pins that micro-stamp primers with serial numbers.

These people apparently figure that they can do an end-run around the 2nd Amendment by eliminating ammunition, rendering the firearms itself into a fancy club.

Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

This is potentially great news for the rest of the country. I hope CA goes balls to the walls, full throttle on this. Then, before others try to catch up, let them start in on confiscations in some vigor so the rest can bear witness and learn the truth.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

Difficult due to the lack of brain wave function.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.
