Canada's largest Church joins boycott Israel campaign

This was before the recent bombshell news of Isreal's new state funded abortion plan (Israel to fund all abortions for women 20-33 starting next year ) and not clear if they had any wind of this plan at the time of boycott call or was purely settlements focussed. This could start a dangerous trend among US based Christians and could send ongoing occupation regime into a tailspin as they can't sustain it without US/Canadian money:


Canadian Protestant church joins boycott Israel campaign

According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), Canada’s largest Protestant church has launched a campaign to boycott goods made in the occupied West Bank.

The United Church of Canada campaign, dubbed “Unsettling Goods: Choose Peace in Palestine and Israel”, encourages “economic action” against three Israeli companies: Keter Plastic Ltd, SodaStream and Havana, which all have factories in the West Bank.
“With these efforts, we join with many others striving to bring peace with justice to the Holy Land,” the church’s moderator, Gary Paterson, wrote in a November letter to church members announcing the launch of the campaign.
Churchgoers are also urged to avoid retailers carrying the products, such as Canadian Tire, The Bay, Home Depot and Walmart.

In June, three more U.S. churches to consider ending financial support for Israeli occupation

Faith in the peace process is at an all-time low after the re-election of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the extremism of his new government. With even President Obama admitting that the door on negotiations is all but closed, Christian activists are opening new windows to expose Israel’s oppression of Palestinians.

Last year, the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) and United Methodist Church (UMC) divested from several U.S. companies involved in the occupation. Various Quaker bodies have done the same.
“Negotiations are not productive and other avenues must be tried,” said a statement by the United Methodist Kairos Response, a grassroots group within the UMC. “The avenues recommended by our own faith community in the Holy Land, the Palestinian Christians, include boycott and divestment as well as sanctions.”
This June, three more U.S. churches—the Episcopal Church, the United Church of Christ (UCC), and the Mennonite Church USA (MCUSA)—will join the growing list of those listening to the Kairos Palestine call and considering resolutions to end financial support for the occupation.

Ted Cruz is a scam artist. He never disowned GOP or Christian Evangelicals base of GOP.

"This week, Schweich seemed to be getting anxious about some comments he alleged Hancock made about his faith. He told the AP that he had heard rumors that Hancock made some comments last year that Schweich was Jewish and he thought Hancock should step down from his position as party chairman, to which he was just elected.
