What is your favorite Christmas song?

I thought it would be interesting to share our favorites in the Christmas music genre.

I prefer the classics over most modern stuff. You know, White Christmas by Bing Crosby, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) by Nat King Cole and such.

My favorite is the whole album, A Charlie Brown Christmas by Vince Guaraldi Trio, but especially Christmas Time Is Here (Vocal).

Beautiful a cappella version of 'The Little Drummer Boy'.

This tearful song is about Joseph, Jesus's earthly father....an unsung hero. 'It Wasn't His Child'.

In the 18th Century the county that is now Germany was divided into several kingdoms, dukedoms, and other small political entities. A court composer in one of the German kingdoms was rather ambitious and determined to leave the musical backwater in which he found himself, and make his fortune in London. he informed his king that he was resigning his appointment and heading for a location in which his talents could be given proper recognition. His talents were widely recognized in London, and he was poised to be appointed composer to the royal court when the king died, and the appointment was placed on hold until the successor was crowned, so the appointment could be made. To the composer's horror, the german king he had left behind was now crowned as George of England. The composer took leave of London, and headed for Ireland, knowing that he must now write something so spectacular that the king would have to recognize his talent. Months were spent in composition, and finally the work was ready. It premiered in Ireland to rave reviews and soon, the performance would bring the composer back to London, where it was known that the king would attend. This was the moment of truth and the composer knew that after this London performance he would either be ruined or rehabilitated.

At the climax of the second act, the king stood shortly after the chorus started and so di everyone else, Was the king leaving? No - the king was in awe of the work, the composer forgiven, and Handel had a spectacular London career, recognized as one of the period's greatest composers. To this day, when this music is played, it is a tradition that all audience members listen to the piece while standing in honor of the king's act of forgiveness toward his court composer.

Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Duty is the most sublime word in the English language. Do your duty in all things. You can not do more than your duty. You should never wish to do less than your duty.

I heard this one today on the radio.

Though it's not my favorite Christmas song I thought it might appeal to some of the silver and gold worshipers on the Ron Paul Forums.

Till Haji went to far and he plugged in at the pub

Twas a cold Christmas eve when Trevor and the skins
Popped in for a pint and to nick a bag of crisps
Trevor liked the music but not the Unity
He unwound Haji's turban and knocked him to his knees

If god came down on Christmas Day
I know exactly what he'd say
He'd say "Oi to the punks and Oi to the skins-
But Oi to the world and everybody wins!"

Haji was a bloody mess, he ran out thru the crowd
He said "we'll meet again we are bloody yet unbowed"
Trevor called his bluff and told him where to meet
Christmas day on the roof down at 20 Oxford street

If god came down on Christmas Day
I know exactly what he'd say
He'd say "Oi to the punks and Oi to the skins-
But Oi to the world and everybody wins!"

On the roof with the nun chucks Trevor broke a lot of bones
But Haji had a sword like that guy on Indiana Jones

Police sirens wailing, a bloody dying man,
Haji was alone and abandoned by his band
Trevor was there fading and still so full of hate
When the skins left him there and went down the fire escape
    Oi Oi

Then then Haji saw the north star shining more then ever
So he made a tourniquet from his turban saving Trevor
The repelled down the roof with the rest of the turban
And went back to the pub where they bought each other bourbon

If god came down on Christmas Day
I know exactly what he'd say
