    Not only does sleep remove neurological toxins, but it regenerates the entire body. Regeneration isn't just for the Borg! This is why your body actually uses quite a bit of fuel during the most involved parts of the sleep cycle.

    Anyone have a sleep your way fit diet plan? I'd be fine hibernating for a few months

    No, but I can tell you that without adequate sleep you are going to have a hard time getting fit no matter what else you might do. Delta sleep is the prime time for release of growth hormone and the elimination of cortisol. Growth hormone is necessary for tissue repair, muscle growth, and proper immune function. Cortisol is essentially the opposite, being catabolic and an immune system supressor.

    No idea. But how about all those brain cells killing toxins sprayed on brain by beer ? No wonder people feel sleepy after beers, mother nature is very clever.

    So true.
    But going to slep on low to medium fuel seems to work better I think. At least I always have bad dreams if go to bed after consuming too many taco bell fuels.

    Melatonin, and serotonin cannot be produced as it naturally should be with all of these calcified pineal glands all over the place and so people really don't ever sleep to the healthiest potential in the first place just because it cannot be induced to the fullest. Kind of an aside thing but a very important one. Actually, now that I think about it, its the BBC article that is off topic in scope. Still a good read, I suppose.
