The big FY 2014 Interest on Debt poll: Place your bets!

In 2013 only a meager $415,688,781,248.40 needed to be paid in interest, resulting in a dissapointing 4th place.

What will the final score for 2014 be?

    A new record?

If interest rates return to normal market driven levels, we could feasibly expect to see interest payments double in the next year.
There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

Well the ten year averaged about 2% maybe just a bit more the past year. Now it's 2,64. I guess It will average at least three indicating a 50% yoy rise in interest or more than 600 Billion. Thats why I chose 600-700.

So far the tally is up to 38.778 Billion. A whopping 777 Million more than the first two months of last year! Place your bets people!

I doubt the fed would raise interests rate, since that would be the right thing to do. They wont allow an economic downturn or put obstacles in the way of future government growth. Theyll keep the printers rolling.

The fed will not let it happen. They will continue to keep interest rates artificially low and, as Peter Schiff has already explained, they're not going to taper, but they may begin purchasing bonds at an even higher rate. I voted $400-$500 billion based on this belief. We're near the end of the game, but the Fed isn't done kicking the can yet.
