Default Further Proof of the Loss of Civil Liberties

My wife is a travel nurse and we have a residence in Syracuse NY where we keep our vehicles registered. Her last assignment was in Olney, MD. We now live in Cincinnati OH.

When I went to Syracuse this past week, there was a letter from the City of Gaithersburg MD.

It informed us that the car registered to my wife ran a red light on the 1st of August at 0112.

From her documented clock-in at the hospital, she was on the floor and has a hospital staff to prove as such.

There was a young man who got a ride from her that morning back to where we were living, a kid we helped out financially and is the likely candidate to have stolen her car from the hospital parking lot and ran the red light.

So, since we did not reside where the City of Gaithersburg sent the letters, we did not know about it until now.

After a long conversation trying to explain all this to the powers there, we have discovered that we must pay the $200 fine or our NYS registration will be suspended.

By this same logic, I could take a registered gun from someones house and kill someone and the gun owner is charged with murder and has no trial, just is guilty because the ballistic of the bullet in the dead man matches the gun he owns.

Needless to say, I am shocked that we as Americans have let this happen.

If it were me I'd quickly register the cars on Ohio and let them continue to try to collect the fine forever.

I can't. NY is our tax home. We pay the IRS through there and we will only be here until april.

Dick Armey has been leading the charge against stoplight cameras. I'm surprised he hasn't come out yet and publicly endorsed Ron Paul.

Some years ago I saw a documentary on stoplight cams. A man came in to the station to inform the clerk that he had been driving his brothers and deserved the ticket himself. Shocker? The refused to change the ticket!

Armey is the chief architect of Homeland Security. If doesn't want to remove the cameras, he wants them to be hidden.
