Been refreshing it all morning. The site just went up:

    Heres the most recent page:

    http://www.ronpaulchannel.com/video/august-12-2013/

Thats a lot cooler than I thought it would be!

So are they just not live yet or is streaming broken? (or is it my system?).

There are a couple of pieces of "free content", and they won't play.

Won't get $10 a month from me unless I can see the channel without signing up. Also, many that I know will not either. And if by some chance those that I know, whom I haven't totally ostracized, should care to check it out then there is no way they are gonna sign up or pay a fee. Meh.

Edit: Should have at least given one month free and given "guest" codes to those that subscribe.

Really? $10 is too steep a price to pay to try something to see if you like it? What do you do when you're at a new restaurant? Do you ask to taste a sample of your entree?

(not trying to be a troll, just sayin'...)

I eat at home. I'm assured of the quality and can set a reasonable price per meal.

Subscribed. $10 pffft. I owe him for the best education I have had in my 53 yrs. Waaaaaaay cheaper than my college education.

I see his first guest will be Glenn Greenwald. Prob will be the most intelligent interview of him yet. Have to wait until after work to watch though.

No one argues that Ron Paul doesnt have the right to ask for 10$ monthly. Argument is that people will not pay for it. So both sides are right. If he keeps charging for it, less people will watch it; if he doesnt charge for it he will lose money and shut it down.

It just started so we will have to see. Too many variables and unknowns.
Will they release material for free after some time? Will price go down if more people starts paying for it? Will there be view on demand? Free trial? Free executions?....

I think about it. I think about how the start-up was funded. I think about whether this is an endeavor to simply create an echo-chamber and turn a profit. It's obviously not an enterprise to bring truth to the masses.

I'm thinkin' it could be a circle jerk too. I wonder how much content will go up each day. Will there be other people reporting on stuff? Will there be actual news reporting on current events each day?

Supposedly, they will release a 45 minute segment every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Other people will be reporting on stuff.

Let me know when it hits youtube. I can't commit to 10/mth.

edit: And, like others have said, it would be really nice and useful to point people to the channel who are not "us", but it would be hard to convince someone to subscribe and then you'll find out that "we" are right.

Just for comparison sake, The Blaze is $10/mo, Rush 24/7 is $7/mo. Ron's price point seems to be in line with other similar products.

Never knew of those plans. That makes more sense to me.

    And just for comparison:

Netflix and Hulu are both at $8/mo, and (no offense intended), the three biggest subscription porn sites are all at $10/mo. So that $10/mo price point seems to go across a wide variety of entertainment choices.

Ron Paul said he had survey where about 250.000 people said that they are willing to pay 10$ per month for this. 250.000 is not bad start.

Later as they get going they might give free yearly/monthly subscriptions for those who donate to YAL, Ron Paul Institute, do liberty oriented stuff, me...
They will be adding more features to it. As people start giving their feedback they will adopt and provide....Resistance is futile.

$10 per month with Netflix gives an individual or family more viewing than they could watch. Netflix can be watched via computer or streamed to television through many compatible devices.

I think the reason Netflix and other streaming services were brought up was for price point comparison. $10 seems to be the sweet spot price whether its a massive service like Netflix or Hulu, exclusive content like The Blaze or 1000's of hours of hardcore porn. They all go for about 10 bucks. As far as "bang for your buck" nothing beats Netflix - we have it and love it.
