    Putin speaks English better than many native speakers.

    Putin started learning English about 6-7 years ago. His first public speech in English was at the IOC meeting where they announced Sochi would host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

    He also speaks fluent German from his time as a KGB officer stationed in Dresden in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany).
