    Star Trek in 3D?

Is it worth paying extra and seeing this movie in 3D?

Is it worth going at all ?

I liked it in 3D, quite a lot actually. As to 'worth it' my roommate was paying, so I can't really speak to that, but I would have paid the ticket price to see it in 3D, yes sir.

Does Kabul have an IMAX? If so, see it there.

3d is well done, worth the extra if you are going to see it anyway.

as for the movie I enjoyed it alot, actually saw it twice. my only gripe is..

    ** spoiler alert**

... how the klingons get smacked around like little kids by one dude. Soo much for fearsest warriors in the galaxy.

I could of gotten behind him taking out a large group of klingons but having him take out that many including the ships they came on was a bit much.

    /end rant.

I wouldn't ever pay extra for 3D. Movies that have to rely on 3d to sell tickets usually suck. I saw it in 2d and it was OK, not great, and not up to blockbuster standards, but all the die hard trekies will see it so they don't care too much about quality, they will rake the dough in anyway.

I watched it in regular, not 3D, and I really enjoyed it, but I'm a trek fan in general so that probably has an influence. Its quite politically relevant as well.

** spoiler alert** (WAY more spoiler than the above...so you will have to hilight it to read it...)

To be fair, that one dude was... Kahn. Kahn is supposed to be over-the-top comic-book level bad-ass. Everybody else was getting their rear ends handed to them by the Klingons.

it will be somewhat of a letdown when it gets reduced to a stream that is 2-D on Netflix

Warlord plans to see it but Kabul theater is booked solid and difficult to get a ticket.

Warlord saw the movie in Kabul's brand new IMAX theater and thought it was well worth the extra $1.20 on the ticket price.

Section 31 was a nice touch and Abrams did a good enough job while making a good movie that resonates with a new generation. Quinto was excellent and Robocop was good too.

My biggest disappointment was Scotty's little friend not joining him on the admirals ship and who could have helped deal with that guy who nearly foiled his precise plan but that was minor.

9/10 and thanks go out to the Taliban who suspended fighting during the evening performance.
