Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Sporting purpose? Tyrants are always in season, and there is no limit.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

An American should be able to walk into the corner market and buy a FULLY automatic rifle and ammunition, no questions asked, no permits required, no records kept. Period. If a US soldier carries one, our continued freedom depends on EVERYONE being able to carry one. This was the opinion of the Founders and the intent of the Second Amendment.

Even the DUers are admitting it, the left's lack of gun knowledge is the reason why they say they're losing the war over gun control.

Come on now, they don't have the time to keep these trivial details straight with Dancing with the Stars back on and everything. Besides, there were like hundreds of bullets fired with those magazines of mass destruction! Hundreds! Are you sure it wasn't a fully automatic? And to think it all could have been avoided if people would just accept the truth that we should all only be allowed to have muskets anyways. /s

Is it too much to expect the president to know which guns he is trying to ban? Does Obama actually think that machine guns are readily available to civilians, that they are legal in Connecticut, and that Lanza's mother bought one there for her collection? After more than two decades of debate about "assault weapon" bans, does he honestly not understand the difference between those arbitrarily prohibited firearms and machine guns? Or, since the misconception that "assault weapons" fire more rapidly than other semi-automatic firearms seems to be one the main reasons people think it makes sense to ban them, is Obama deliberately misleading the public? Is it appalling ignorance or calculated deception? The clues suggest the former, but I'm not sure which is worse.

I'm pretty sure it was an RPG. Possibly a Stinger. At the least a Gatling gun.

I've heard conflicting reports that he even did not even use his semi-automatic rifle.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Hush now. Just because every school/mass shooting has witnesses that say that there were more people involved than officially reported doesn't mean we should take eye witness reports into account. Excepting, of course, those eye witness reports that fit the narrative.

Nope. And I'm not sure that some SWAT idiot didn't trip over his dick and light up a whole room of kids.

But that would NEVER be reported as such.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.
