Lew Rockwell on Daylight Savings Time

Daylight savings time is just another government gimmick. First introduced during WWI as "war time," it does not save daylight nor extend it, of course. But it did, hoped our rulers, help train the populace for obedience. Politicians and bureaucrats so love giving orders, like "Change your watch now!" This causes sleep troubles, but that must give them pleasure. And in its most recent, most outrageous incarnation, it's a product of George W. Bush and the GOP congress. I sympathize with a friend who wrote, "As another act of personal secession, I'm staying on standard time. Live by the sun, not the sons of b******."

It's bad for your health. The oligarchs love to weaken the populace any way possible.

The whole narrative is absurd on its face - at the same time the USA was both founded on White supremacy, slavery, and genocide, yet always meant to be a place that infinity Africans, Indians, and South Americans could come for a "better life"? - Unknown

Founding father Benjamin Franklin suggested the idea of adjusting sleep schedules to maximize daylight in a 1784 essay titled "An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light."

It's not a government conspiracy to make us obedient. It literally came from scientific proposals that were being discussed 150 years prior to WW1.
I just want objectivity on this forum and will point out flawed sources or points of view at my leisure.

I may be off, but I think Franklin was being satirical... I remember reading extensively about it all years ago. Please double check my claims.

Kudos, spot on the mark (see here). Satirical essays are a hell of a lot more fun to write than serious ones.
My choice of third person pronouns for myself is generally irrelevant. I'm not typically involved in the conversations that use them. It's other people referring to me in the third person, usually from a distance. I'm not a conversational partner in those exchanges. Those people could be referring to me as "That A$$hole" or "That Motherfukker" for all I know.
