Sen. Lindsey Graham calls for National Biometric ID Card

Oh dear, we really need to get rid of Graham... I will donate to Bright's campaign if he can prove himself.

    -
Having profoundly failed to enforce federal immigration law for the past several decades, the federal government is now angling to use the immigration debate as a means to accentuate its own power. The Wall Street Journal reports that Senator Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.), among others, supports a national biometric I.D. card, calling it “the public’s way of contributing to solving the problem” of illegal immigration.

The Journal writes that “at least five of the eight senators writing the [immigration] bill”— Graham, Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), John McCain (R., Ariz.), Dick Durbin (D., Ill.), and Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.) — “have backed biometric ID cards in the past.” What’s more, Graham, Schumer, and McCain “have said they support requiring the cards under the new law.”

The government-issued biometric cards would use fingerprints, scans of the veins on the top of a person’s hand, or other personal markers, and every American citizen would be required to produce his or her card to prove eligibility for work. The Journal writes that “privacy advocates and others” — such as those concerned with liberty — worry that such a card would eventually — and perhaps inevitably — be used to “track Americans at airports, hospitals, and through other facets of their lives.”

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

Just wrapping up the loose ends they weren't able to accomplish with 9/11, the Global War on Terror, the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act, NDAA, etc. Only those who have something to hide would be against this anyway...

    - Immigration reform will lead to the biometric National ID. Want to bet they also have an RF chip?
    - Gun control will lead to registration, confiscation, and disarmament. Your status will be noted on your ID.
    - DUI/seat belt checkpoints become "safety and welfare" checks to ensure you are compliant with all laws and regulations and that you are carrying your shiny new ID card.
    - "Search and rescue drones" become citizen surveillance drones with gigapixel cameras, thermal imaging, biometric recognition, and RFID to track your activities from the air. All "public" buildings will be installed with similar equipment.
    - Government cyber security executive/legislative measures will steamroll the last bastions against total government control of the internet. Your new ID will be required to log-in to the internet.
    - "Extreme-scale analytics" systems will track your movements, activities, and speech using social media, your gov't ID, and cellphone
    - All information collected will be tied to your govt ID and instantly available to govt employees in an integrated federal database that will include identification, employment history, financial history, medical history, moving violations and criminal background, family, social, and group (political, religious, and otherwise) associations, geo-location history, gun registration status, education, purchase history, all online activity, etc.

It is all underway. This is an all-out assault to quash the resistance before it begins.

It has been about 10-15 years in the making
    1.create hysteria over immigration
2.create a race baiting national debate
    3.fuel blind hatred and ignorance
4.raise the taxes and scapegoat the brown people as the reasons for raising taxes
5.propose building a fence as if trying to actually fix the "immigration" problem, but then expend all ideas
6.treat biometrics as the last and only fix

And, after a few years, when the cards prove impractical, forged and lost, this will be rolled out as a solution.

Oh, and bonus, it will be tied into your ObamaCare records and credit card (and cash if it still exists) purchases.

Cash? What a quaint concept! All transactions need to be tracked by the government for your security.

The only way to fix this little peckerwood is for the masses to show up and ask him what his fuggin problem is. Seriously. That's how you end the crap.

It is amusing really.... things get defeated and they reintroduce, over and over again, on many issues they want control over... national ID, internet spying, etc. They sneak it in every opportunity they get. These folks are traitors, pure and simple. And they should be treated as such.

    This ain't your grandpa's America.
I have seen through it all... the system is against us. ALL OF IT.

What did this douchebag say and do to get elected? Did he buy his votes with money or sexual favors? Or are the people just that stupid to vote for him?

    My mind is blown.

There may be cash left as holdout until the last refuseniks die off.

But you will be required to scan your chip at approved vendors even if purchasing with cash.

    This ain't your grandpa's America.

It is like the casino issue here in Ohio. Vote it down, they introduce it again until it goes through in a cycle where people aren't paying attention. Then after it is in by the skin of its teeth they change the terms of what was voted on and instead of being in the major towns they just let their cronies move it wherever the hell they want.

Graham HAS TO GO. I doubt anyone other than Satan himself would be worse.

Immigration is the battle for which the entire point has been control and power. Either way tptb win and the common man loses.

You may have edited out what really will end this crap.

The masses could "show up" and mill about, smartly, for however long they want...until the system tires of it and sends in SWAT to clear them out.

My guess from my days in his neck of the woods would be "blow up brown people and they want yer jobz". That is IF and that's a big if they are honest elections, and of that I am no where near sure of anymore.

Well, at least Graham is consistent. He doesn't pander or change opinions with the blowing wind. He is just a crazy neo-con through and through.
I am more and more convinced that man is a dangerous creature and that power, whether vested in many or a few, is ever grasping, and like the grave, cries, 'Give, give.'

Even among this docile and compliant mob, there might just be enough unfocused resistance and grumbling to be a PITA for them.

Give it another generation, tie it in with the functionality of all the gee-gaws and gadgets and sail-fawns.

Pack it up in a nice shiny box, make it new and hip and market it as a means to stick it to the old farts and parents who "just don't get it" and $#@!, they'll line up and pay their own money to get chipped.

It's already federal law that ALL non-citizens carry their alien registration card with them at all times.

"every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him . . . Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both."
