Why are the big gun manufacturers still located in states with the strictest gun laws?

I know its historical that most arms manufacturers started in NY, Conn, Mass, and Illinois.

With what has been going on they should make a statement to those states telling them to back off or they are going to more gun owner friendly states taking their business, jobs and tax revenue with them.

Springfield Armory fought the gun bans in Illinois with threatening to leave and the state backed off.

    Colt is located in Conn.
Smith and Wesson is in Mass.

Ruger thou has factories in NH it is still HQ in Conn.

Henry Repeating Arms is in NJ

Remington has a big factory in NY

Savage Arms Company is in Mass.

    Winchester is in Conn

It's called inertia. It's the same thing that keeps a guy in an inferior job situation. The costs of searching for and transferring to a new job outweigh the benefits in the estimation of the worker. Same thing here. If there was an obvious advantage (financial or otherwise), they'd move.
