but they try to say if you want the people represented you want slavery back they make this tenuous grasp at that being a reason for the civil war so despite the fact that no way is that happening now, it must be fondness for that idea that makes you want local rather than distant and bought-by-special-interests representation. Mind you, some of our states are also bought by special interests, but some aren't as much, yet.

Nullification was used to target the Fugitive slave laws by northern states so they could stop the slave catchers.
