It was held at the Token Lounge in Westland where many of our past Kerry events were being held due to the fact that it's owned by a fellow Pauler and that there's a stage with lighting and sound system plus a dance floor that is full of lounge chairs and tables.

It was our first event out of the pocket for this new year and it featured a PP presentation on the local high speed rail debacle that's going down and urged people to contact their reps/senators to reject it; there was also video shown of Pratt and Jones' appearances on Piers Morgan and a PP on the concept of an assault rifle which led to nullify talk; speakers that were running for state committee spots, local C4L leadership talks about plans for upcoming conventions, a handful of people who work in Kerry's office and a spokesman from MIGOP chair Shostak (because he wouldn't dare come in person) as well as Todd Cursor who's also running for state chair and is clearly one of us - both were put on record as to whether or not they wanted to ditch the state run primary in favor of a party caucus system to save taxpayer money and cast our influence further by being able to have a better pick on our state and local candidates; lastly people from our district met in the conference room to discuss our precedings coming up and made decisions on who's running for state com from our area as well as the district comm.

All in all, it was a great event with around 90 people turning out which was way more than we could ever turn out for a Kerry volunteer meeting. I'm excited about our upcoming chances and there was at least one spy in the room that would likely be reporting back to the insiders about the turnout and the mounting challenge were putting up against the state chair. One state rep said he's happy to see that our movement in the GOP wasn't a flash in the pan like he thought it might and was impressed by the showing. There was a couple gals present from neighboring Washtenaw co (think ann arbor area) and they were envious of our crowd and mobilization. Everything was planned efficiently and went down in a boom-boom fashion with no wasting of time for the 2+ hr event.

Next up, a few of us will be calling the precinct delegate list to maximize our turnout at the district/county convention and stack the deck for state.
