Things to Ban

I'm trying to think of things to ban, since there's so much "debate" on so-called "gun control." What else should be banned? I guess it's based on things that are dangerous our could kill people. Here's what I can come up with:

Automobiles - there's something that starts with "auto-" (like automatic weapons). According to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...n_U.S._by_year almost 100 people die everyday on the roadways (we should ban roadways too). What do we need automobiles for, anyways? People should walk instead; it's healthier & doesn't give people the opportunity to commit suicide with carbon monoxide.

Swimming pools - people can and do drown in these things. We need it to protect young children; most young children who drown were in swimming pools: http://www.cdc.gov/homeandrecreation...factsheet.html

Contact Sports - a football player died after being tackled: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/1...n_1944359.html

Electricity - causes fires and can electrocute people.

The Sun - we need to ban the Sun because it causes skin cancer and heats up the earth.

Gravity - this is a deadly force of nature and should also be banned.

Medusa - turns people to stone

Sharks - these marine beasts have very sharp teeth; ban sharks

Shopping at Walmart - might get trampled by shoppers

Food - causes people to choke

Being Born - if you're born then you might get killed by something (let's ban sex too, while we're at it).

Food - causes people to choke

You're hardly scratching the surface. You could write quite the lengthy essay on the evils of food. The ingredients often need to be sliced or chopped, and that requires the use of sharp things called 'knives', which are so incredibly dangerous they've been used as weapons for thousands of years. Then most foods need to be cooked, which involves such intense concentrations of heat that people literally burn themselves every day. Some of these heat sources are electric, which is fine as long as you live somewhere with safe, cheap, clean nuclear energy like Fukushima or Chenobyl, but others use nasty things like natural gas that produce exhaust like carbon dioxide. That's not only turning the planet into a freezing cold hothouse, but might lead to the old growth forests regrowing. And if these open flames right inside the house aren't scary enough, you have certain silly humans (mostly men, all of whom should be banned anyway) starting raging infernos in things called 'barbeque grills'. Sometimes they do it in public places, like football stadium parking lots, where children are running around. Can you imagine the potential carnage?

And if that isn't scary enough, then you have the people who overindulge in food. Next thing you know, you have millions of people who are as wide as they are tall. Now, how are we supposed to give loving care to all the pharmaceutical addicts with these obese people clogging up our emergency rooms with their utterly preventable heart attacks? And we won't even talk about the people who burn their mouths because they couldn't resist the peer pressure and tried a bite five alarm chili.

They should just ban hands, really. Maybe give people a license to keep their hands depending on their profession. Soccer players don't really need hands.

BTW, people could use stones to sharpen other stones into knives, arrowheads, spears, etc. Ban rocks! ETA: also ban wood because people can make spears, pointy sticks, etc out of it.

In seriousness, it could be argued that a free country would have a ban on surveillance cameras (except on private property), as well as automatic license plate readers, etc. Tracking the movements of individuals by such means is no different from putting a monitoring bracelet on everyone, as if everyone were a convict sentenced to such monitoring.

I am going to call for a ban of speech. I don't need a reason. WOrds hurt people, our founders never intended words to hurt. WAHHHHHHH
