It’s not clear, meanwhile, whether Robinson will try a third time to unseat DeFazio.
The Roseburg News-Review reported that Robinson told supporters at a rally a couple of hours before 8 p.m. Tuesday that he would run again if he lost.
Robinson did not respond to an interview request on Wednesday. But in a news release to supporters, his campaign manager and son Noah Robinson suggested he might have another go in 2014.
“How we handle the 2014 race will depend on many things,” Noah Robinson said in the statement. “We certainly do not want everyone to work hard with the same result. ... There are other possibilities which we are exploring, and we will let you know as things progress.”

As for the distant future, DeFazio has not said whether he’ll run again in 2014.
“I just won re-election to another two years in Congress. There’s a lot of stuff I want to get done, and I will cross the re-election bridge when I get to it,” he said.
