And by government dole, I don't mean perfectly competent person working for the government or a company that has a lot of government contracts. I mean someone who gets welfare.

My brother now gets SSI, he's very sweet, likes Ron Paul and dreams of having a family one day. But he has Aspergers, could not get his Associates degree after failing biology 3 times, is incredibly naive and has struggled to even hold an industrial cleaning position. He is not entirely incapable of work, he's been successful working in food service at a nursing home, has worked for a while as a amusement park cleaner (including this summer when he also worked packing books) The book packing job he still has through a non profit known as Suburban Adult Services.

When him and I do chores he needs a lot of directions, otherwise he'll stand around or work really slowly. I don't think he's slow on purpose, either he is incapable of focusing or he is a product of being held to a different lower his whole life.

Anyway, I guess my point is that I am conflicted about whether or not we should have government welfare and whether or not my brother needs it.

    Thoughts.
Do you donate 5% of your income to charities? Should I point a gun at your head to make you?

Anyway, I guess my point is that I am conflicted about whether or not we should have fascists point guns at people and kill them for money and whether or not my brother needs their money by hook or by crook.
    Fixed it for you.

Yep, the deficit junkies make up about 60% of the population. We have 49% that pay zero federal income taxes and use the most entitlements/services. Then we have all the federal employees, federal retirees, military, military retirees, defense contractors, other federal contractors, union pensioners that were bailed out, corporations that were bailed out, retirees of bailed out corporations, banks that were bailed out etc etc etc.

That makes up about 60% of the voting population. How do you ever pass responsible legislation when 60% of the country is dependent on and addicted to deficit spending?

The more people the federal government gets on their dependency bandwagon the more deficit voters they acquire. You can just when all of that ridiculous healthcare law goes into effect that will had another 10% of the country through employment and another 25% through dependency. Then we have the monster shift of 30 million boomers out of being the highest wage earners in the workforce into retirement..... replaced with more government dependents in their prime earning years.

At that point you can kiss what little is left of the Republic goodbye. Welcome to pure socialism by "mob rule". The majority of the country are deficit junkies and the FED is the money drug manufacturer. The Federal Government is the money dealer/distributor. This is to say nothing of the federal government being a junkie themselves having a $1.5 trillion a year deficit so they are worthless to help the taxpayers.

We are pretty well screwed until the FED gets sick of buying 90% of the bogus US debt or the currency collapses.

I would have put and and/or in place of the or, and a ???????? in place of "the currency" because whether the Fed gets sick of buying 90% of the bogus debt or not, something is definitely going to collapse.

That 60% will be crying sob stories when 60% becomes 40% and 40% becomes 20% and 20% becomes 10%. "Wheres my dole?"

Nothing would please me more than all Fed govt welfare to be cut , for eternity, Jan 1.If people had most of the money they earn , private charities could take care of those really in need at a local level. If I give a dollar to my local food bank , church etc , someone gets the whole dollar. If the Fed govt steals a dollar from me to give to who they choose , they may see , twenty cents of it , the other eighty will go to the million dollar building and 60k per year tax tick employee to pass at the spoils that were stolen.

Looks like 64 % on the poll agree , private charity, 64 % agreeing is good for a Liberty board .

Let nature take it's course, humanity will be stronger in the long run; ideally A libertarian society would provide ample jobs and cheap basic needs, I believe charities and fraterial organizations will fill the void, in our current fascist oligopoly however , I am a follower of Hayek/Paleconservative, I beleive their is a place for welfare, my kid's sick and the system has me dependent, I expect state governments to fill the void l, even though I know they system creates a tendency to feign neediness and The vast majority of disabled use their disability as a crutch, knowingly or not.

    Is that a good answer?
It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen
to set brush fires in peoples minds! Revolution is Action upon Revelation!

We have borrowed money two generations into the future to support these social programs. They are all totally corrupted beyond belief and for the most part only "vote buying" mechanisms for federal politicians. If you are short votes you start proposing adding UNFUNDED entitlements to social programs. If your opponent is against them "he hates the poor, children and elderly".

Obviously the federal government is confiscating most the money earmarked for these programs through their own employment but the real killer is how they are able to build a platform of "deficit junkies" to support federalization. With this dependancy they have the majority of voters afraid to force change on the totally corrupted federal structure and FED. The dependents start crying for change to stop all the theft and all of the sudden there is legislation to cut entitlements conveniently on the table. Back off and the cuts go away. If you vote for major corporate and federal employee theft programs entitlements increase. As Tony Suprano says "Pay up and nobody gets hurt".

The states and communities are bound by balanced budget agreements which mean we can't borrow to create dependency and the politicians can't use a "tab" or credit to sell votes. If they promise something they have to say where the money for this is coming from. It is clear on the "bill" who gets what and who gets stuck paying for it. To say these "bills" for entitlements would be a great deal less popular would be a gross understatement.

This decentralization the founders set up was specifically set up to control this behavior that has been happening since Rome. It was the defining difference between Europe and America. You NEVER NEVER NEVER connect "the voters" with the credit line. It is a death sentence for any society. No matter how you make this connection you will always wind up with more people on the deficit spending than not. At that point your fait is sealed. They will vote the society bankrupt.
