Wait, there isn't already an infinite debt limit?

That sort of thing seriously detracts from the whole back-slappin' good ol' boy Country Club atmosphere.
Exactly and then they whine about what the President is doing.

About once a year congress has been enacting legislation to increase the debt limit incrementally; a couple hundred billion at a time... 2.4 trillion 16 months ago... which is about spent. The president has ZERO (perhaps emergency powers; not sure how that fits in) authority to spend money on credit without Congressional authorization.

It does not require a majority to prevail,
but rather an irate, tireless minority keen
to set brush fires in peoples minds

There has never been any such thing as a debt limit.

I was thinking a couple of weeks back the final end of the constitution that you Americans or at least some cherish so much would be the end of the 22 Amendment.

The President has zero authority to spend money anyways- Congress (starting in the House of Representatives) has to write all spending bills. He can suggest but in the end. all he can really do is sign or veto what Congress passes.

Until recently, getting the debt limit raised was basically an automatic thing which easily passed. That is why some have suggested that having it had become meaningless.
Freedom is a state of mind. Nobody can take that from you unless you let them.

Yes, there is. It's called the debt ceiling. True, they can change it, but it nonetheless is a limit.

Ever notice how everytime they talk about a subject, they're just a bit more extreme than last time? Incrementalism. The globalists use it well. It is used to slowly take over a population instead of doing it quickly in the open. People don't notice as much. Each time it isn't so bad. You get used to it. You accept it. You love it. You need it. You defend it. You think you can't live without it. It kills you.

You can't change a limit. That's what a limit is.

The debt ceiling is merely a suggestion.

I saw it on the news yesterday, I think. She pretty much said that they had already cut everything that could be cut without sending us back to the stone ages, and that the only compromise they're willing to make is ...well, none.
