I wonder how many people will have to lose their lives over this? There would be a fight if the state were to try and seize my child.
American politics. Where the rules are made up and the votes don't matter.

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Law was to improve children's rights and make it easier to adopt children or remove them from abusive households.

1.For the first time, the Constitution will take a child-centred approach to the protection of all children and will allow for the State to better support families who are struggling, rather than wait for a situation to reach crisis point.
2.Allow up to 2,000 children, currently in long-term State care, the opportunity to be adopted and given a second chance at a loving, stable and permanent family.
3.Base child care, adoption, guardianship, custody and access decisions on what is in the best interests of the child.
4.Ensure that judges listen to the views of children when making decisions in child care, adoption, guardianship, custody and access cases
5.Set out how we, as a country, now view and value children and move beyond the damning history of child abuse in Ireland

DUBLIN — Official returns show that voters have approved an amendment to insert stronger rights for children into Ireland’s constitution with a narrower-than-expected 57.4 percent “yes” vote.

Only a third of registered voters participated in Saturday’s referendum, reflecting a low-key campaign. All political parties and children’s charities supported the “yes” side.

Prime Minister Enda Kenny said Sunday the amendment will allow his government to pass laws making it easier for Irish children to be adopted, for courts to remove children from abusive homes and for children to testify in court.
It does not sound like they will be running around seizing children.

You are opposed to Children's Rights because the UN supported the idea?
(the UN did not impose it- the Irish voters voted on it).

They oppose it because it grants more power for a large governing body to decide that you are unfit to have children. Are you an anarchist? You are probably not fit to be a parent. Do you homeschool your children and choose not to teach them the government lies? Unfit. Do you keep your children on a healthy diet? Unfit. Do you choose to spank your child? Abusive, unfit.

Some people are actually unfit to have children.

Most people don't care about other people's children, so that then leaves somebody else to do so.

Just to add, The Irish defence force isn't the defence force for Ireland, it is a United Nations peacekeeping military especially since 1993.
