For 30 years he's biding his time? This dude has the patience of a saint apparently.

BT, in the world, the US backing you up is a good as God backing you up. We are the movers and shakers, we have enough conventional fire power to destroy any country of our choosing. One more thing you should know is that we still have KING dollar. Some people on this boards (me included) tend to talk down the dollar but in most parts of the world, the dollar can buy you lots of influence and what is better that being good buddies with the makers of the dollar? You can still buy the support of many a people with the Almighty dollar.
If they're that strong then why go to all this effort to take down Assad? They have nothing to worry about. This is circular logic.

Quote me on this, the relationship btw Egypt and Israel is only going to get better from here, not worse
    Better how?

Ask any football players and they will tell you that is no substitute for a live game, not even contact practice. The same goes for military exercises. So yes, a true war is better than any amount of war games they can simulate. Also you get to kill your enemy which Israel with its military might can do much better than Syria
So this is good for Israel because they get to go to war with Syria. But it would be bad for Israel is Assad was biding his time to go to war and take the golan heights? So war is good... or bad. Depending on Assad.

Israel will benefit tremendously from the Arab Spring as Muslim nations democratize and the twoface dictators are upended. Israel waits cautiously looking down from its hilltop.

Why do people here seem so unfriendly towards Kurdistan secession?

If there's a separatist movement anywhere I'd like to see succeeding is the Kurd one. I think an independent Kurdistan would be an element of stability in the region and a great intellectual counterpart to the dominant mix of pan-arabism/socialist/islamit that dominates the Arabic zeitgeist and the middle-east these days.
