Next question: When do other countries call it quits with the USD?

THAT will be the turning point IMO.

It's happening. It ain't like a light switch. The process is underway. They are losing faith in the Fed, we Americans are losing faith in the Fed. The only question left is not will the Fed let us down, but will we be able to find a soft place to land?

I hear China and Germany have a thing going, and I think China and Brazil do, too. Then there's Russia and China. Circumventing the US dollar. Anyone know of any others? I'm thinking some of these "rebel" Middle Eastern countries are giving the Treasury some grief, too, but I'm not sure.

    Russia/Iran

    Iran/China

    China/Japan

    China/Russia

Most BRIC's and countries that do business with them.

Over the last 2-3 years MANY pacts have been made to shun the USD entirely.

So what would come of that? Massive deflation?

Just the opposite. If they don't alter the supply, and the demand for FRNs that comes of 'world reserve currency status' dries up and blows away, then supply outstrips demand and the FRN becomes even more worthless.

Yeah, and unfortunately, we're probably going to be the target.
