Kinda Surprised This Doesn't Happen More Often

“…Philadelphia airport police received an anonymous call that named a passenger on the Dallas/Fort Worth bound Flight 1267. The ‘tipster’ told police that the passenger was in possession of a dangerous substance, which prompted authorities to recall the flight about 10 minutes after it departed.”

The usual hysteria continued when the police-state called in “bomb technicians” – plural. They also arrested the poor slob the “tipster” fingered, but Our Rulers “apparently have determined he did nothing wrong. Philadelphia Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan tells The Associated Press that someone played ‘a pretty nasty trick’ on that passenger.”

Given the miffed ex-spouses running around, the disgruntled employees and feuding neighbors, never mind the out-and-out crazies, it’s a wonder this doesn’t happen daily, multiple times. Especially since the vengeful can always count on Our Masters’ overreacting, and drastically.

Were airlines in charge of their own security, of course, they would judge whether such anonymous calls had merit before making fools of themselves and jeopardizing passengers' goodwill and repeated business.

Theye have erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

Theye kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies

Theye have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution,

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

Theye plundered and destroyed the lives of our people.

Theye are at this time transporting Armies of Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of a civilized nation.

and when the swat does something bad like accidentally kill a child or an unarmed person who is completely innocent they will plant a gun. Its a technique that the soldiers in Iraq now use,sad and pathetic but true, they plant a weapon on a dead persons body who was innocent to protect themselves from the consequences of illegal activity.

A cruel joke? Considering the number of people put in danger by this joke, this girl may face some jail time.

A bomb hoax in Philadelphia that turned a Dallas-bound flight around and led to a full-scale SWAT response was apparently triggered by a spiteful ex-girlfriend who telephoned authorities to say her former beau was aboard the US Air flight armed with liquid explosives, police told ABC News.

According to authorities, Christopher Shell, a salesman in his 20's who travels between Philadelphia and Dallas, had no explosives and is cooperating with authorities. He appears to have been the victim of a cruel joke.

He said authorities did not yet have a motive for the hoax.
    Lol.

Reminds me of high school. I went to a very small school, and apparently, one day, a few kids thought it would be funny to repeatedly call in fake bomb threats every few days, which the school always took seriously and evacuated the building. What's worse is that this went on to the point where we had to go through airport-like checks just to get into the building. They would check our bags and use metal detectors on our clothes. They even offered a reward for information on whomever was doing it. It was hellish, to say the least. Especially bad were the tyrannical crackdowns on enforcement of ALL school policy, as if they were actually some kind of government agency.

    Very much so.

Hiding behind authority figures and such knowing that if the kids that you're messing with ever caught you outside school, they'd mess you up bad.

Using government to do your bidding while hiding behind it at the same time. Evil cowardly stuff.

Evil cowards have learned by the example set by the state. Wielding a bit of that power must be extremely intoxicating.

The way to stop it, it to turn it into spy vs. spy in terms of uncoordinated government agences doing in each other.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Duty is the most sublime word in the English language. Do your duty in all things. You can not do more than your duty. You should never wish to do less than your duty.

This is a not unsuspected lack of introspection on their part. Nobody played a nasty trick on the passenger. He is a victim of the TSA/police state.

Truly if their overaggressive swat team bull$#@! police state tactics weren't creating an unlawful environment... then a prank like this wouldn't of caused any potential harm aside from wasted man hours. What makes the trick "NASTY" is knowing that there is a strong likelihood of some roid-raged goon-with-a-gun-and-a-badge killing someone on false pretences.

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. Ya think.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

And how often does this affect a flight? Almost never, threats are routinely called in, but life goes on.
