    History channel: Andrew Jackson

They're talking about Jackson's opposition to the Bank of the United States. Good stuff.

Awesome, I wanted to see this tonight also. I was wondering if they were going to talk about the US Bank.

I find it funny they play that video at this time when we have a dollar crisis in our midst.

    50 years, almost a 100 years...1836 he killed it.

The history channel is nowhere near deep enough for people to truly grasp the importance.
Checkout Ron Paul's legislation, write your representatives and spread the word!

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." Robert Kennedy

Now they've moved on to covering the trail of tears.

Well, at least Jackson got one thing right. Bummer about the ethnic cleansing bit.

You have to view it in the context of the French and Indian Wars, etc.

"This political train-wreck Republicans face can largely be traced to Bush’s philosophical metamorphosis from a traditional, non-interventionist conservative to the neoconservatives’ exemplar of a 'War President', and his positioning of the Republicans as the 'War Party'."

I caught that show earlier and that part was good. Jackson looks like a jerky later when it comes to the trail of tears part he enforced though.

They got some good digs in against paper money, and the corruption of the central bank. It's not much of a jump to connect that commentary to our current monetary situation.

What is the view point from there? It's been awhile since i've read up on Jackson, but one depiction I got was that he basically screwed over the Indians, and if I remember correctly, the Spanish by conquering the South East.

Thats all part of the American history, the good, the bad and the ugly. We are still making mistakes, like the Central Bank, Invading countries etc....
