Bachman states "Up is Down", "Black is White", at Sunday's "Unity Rally"

Cain and Bachman appear clueless about the rule changes. They don't tell us the size of the crowd which indicates it was probably not that large. That, at least, is encouraging.
TAMPA, Fla. — The “Unity Rally 2012,” convening the night before the Republican National Convention began, preached a form of unity that was less about uniting around a common idea or candidate than about uniting around a common enemy: President Barack Obama.

The Sunday rally in Tampa’s River Church featured tea party figures including two of Mitt Romney’s formal primary rivals: pizza mogul Herman Cain and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann. It was co-sponsored by TheTeaParty.net, Cain Solutions Revolution, the Western Representation PAC and other organizations.

Some in the crowd did not seem entirely sold on their party’s nominee. Two holdouts stood outside the event holding a Newt Gingrich sign, and several cars sported Ron Paul stickers.

Bachmann’s message was less unity-focused and more a celebration of ways in which the tea party had successfully co-opted the Republican Party.

“We are not an unwanted, second class political party,” she said in her short speech. “We are the conscience of the United States Constitution!”

As a measure of success of the movement, she pointed to the Republican Party’s convention platform.

“The tea party is all over that platform,” she said.
Cain, who delivered the night’s keynote address, said the election was now about putting aside individual needs in favor of Republicans’ common goal.

“One of the hardest things about getting out of the race because of lies and dirty politics was that I know that a lot of people supported me were gonna be disappointed,” Cain intoned. “But let me tell you: This is why, because of the support that I had, even though I am no longer seeking the position of president, I am still on a mission to defeat Barack Obama.”

Cain does not have a speaking slot at the convention, something he said did not disappoint him.

“You see, it’s not about me,” he said to raucous applause. “It’s about the great things we can do.”

Hey Bachman, how does it feel to have 1/10 the people that Ron Paul had?
"Power tends to confuse itself with virtue...conferring upon it a special responsibility for other nations—to make them richer and happier and wiser, to remake them, that is, in its own shining image. Power confuses itself with virtue and tends also to take itself for omnipotence. Once imbued with the idea of a mission, a great nation easily assumes that it has the means as well as the duty to do God's work." - William Fulbright

Another article that covered both that rally and Ron's (in the context of covering two Minnesota women in politics) said Ron's had 10,000+, and the 'Unity Rally' had 'hundreds'. Hence our Marianne Stebbings, from Minnesota got most of the two page article and Bachmann got a couple of paragraphs at the end.
"Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesn't want to hear.” -Ron Paul

"Bathtub falls and police officers kill more Americans than terrorism, yet we've been asked to sacrifice our most sacred rights for fear of falling victim to it." -Edward Snowden

Whats sad is the fact that those co-opted tea party folks think that they are the tireless minority, alone in the wilderness of politics, fighting for our freedoms.
“No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.”
    ― Samuel Adams

I read an article on CNN this morning that said exactly that. The whole article was about how they wanted and still want a "real" small government president. Like Gingrich.

It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

of course, because Bachman has a long history of stealing Ron's lines.

"We are not wanted," is the only honest thing Bachmann has ever said. The accuracy of the statement, that no one wants to be affiliated with her, cannot be overlooked.

Big-ups on speaking the truth, Michele.

The American people are very, very, very comfortable being lied to. So comfortable that they become very, very, very uncomfortable when they suspect they may not be being lied to.

This goes doubly or triply for "Tea Party" people. They love to hear blathering about the US Constitution. They eat that up. They absolutely oppose the idea of ending any of the unconstitutional programs however, like their beloved SS. That is their worst nightmare.

Exactly. We pointed out the hidden-in-plain-sight truth that so much of this $#@! going on today is unquestionably unconstitutional. But they like these unconstitutional programs. To resolve that inner conflict, they convince themselves that they are champions of the constitution, and their cognitive dissonance is put at ease.

I really hope we can find someone to challenge her in 2014.

They love being lied to and love being enslaved and monitored and watched.

So much so, they pay for it, willingly.

Liberty is dead, in the soul in most of these people.

Somewhere I read it was around 1000. So what does the UNITY signify---UNITY with Romney?

    I don't get it.

Another thing: Neal Boortz was wishing there were such a thing as a VOICE TRANSPLANT, saying that Bachman has the worst screeching voice he's ever heard.

    LOL
