I listened to this last night. It was great!

I assume the people he is referring to are the Reason and Cato crowd. The more I read Rothbard, the more I understand what Tom is saying in this speech. It is only a matter of time before he is as well known as he deserves.

Great speech. And some good stuff to think about. I like Rothbard very much more than Friedman, but I am not a "disciple" of either.

    And a timely posting, thanks.

what is this fetish of the rothbard people to call every other libertarian a cult? it started of course when Rothbard himself couldn't contain his obsession and envy of Ayn Rand and called her a cult leader. tom woods is being a good rothbardian here.

A cult usually follows a charismatic leader, not not follows him.
Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne,--
Yet that scaffold sways the future, and, behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above his own.

Great speech. Tom is out to separate the men from the boys within the libertarian movement, and I applaud his efforts.

Excellent talk, thank you for sharing.
"No nation can give itself liberty if it is not already free."

"There is no such thing as man in the world. In my lifetime I have seen Frenchmen, Italians, Russians...But as for man, I declare that I have never in my life met him; if he exists, he is unknown to me."
