No handgun is a flawless 100%-of-the-time manstopper, but there is no excuse for carrying a .380 when there are plenty of pocket-sized 9mm and .40 subcompacts on the market.

I hope he upgrades to a service caliber after this incident.
I'll have a thread on this subject shortly - still gathering some material, and need a better photo or two.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

It looks like small gun and the report says both were hit and arrested at the hospital later where they were being treated for gunshot wounds.

Yes, you wouldn't want to interrupt a false flag (or other opporunity to seize upon) in progress!

Wars, fear mongering, additional invasions of privacy, the destruction of liberties, and government growth of the police state may depend upon it!

But even in broad daylight, in a fairly open space, where the situation is pretty clear from the get go, one nincompoop almost steps into the line of fire. Imagine in a dark theater, mobility limited by seats, gas canisters going off, and hundreds of freaked people running around. Think you can hit your target? Without hitting a bystander? I'm not a bad pistol shot and I would not give myself very good odds.

Believe it or not, some people put thought into carrying a pistol and either use a weaponlight or have a flashlight elsewhere on their person. I'm not saying that's immediately going to give you a clear shot, but every little bit helps.

No doubt there are things that could help. A flashlight is one, although it would also make you a target. Even better, in my opinion, would be a laser targeting device, like crimson trace grips. Less likely to draw fire and better than iron sites under the circumstances. Still a real risk of hitting an innocent. But that might be a risk you have to take, since the only other choice is to allow many more deaths.

When the looney is firing off rounds at the rate he was, I guess your only options are to get on your belly or start firing.
