Support for Ron Paul in the proposed state of Jefferson, Part 1

Jefferson is a proposed state which combines part of Northern California with a small part of Oregon. I will not go into the details, as you likely know them. If not, here are a couple good sources http://www.jeffersonstate.com/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffers...cific_state%29.

The 2012 Oregon Republican Primary results are mostly in by now. The California Primary hasn't happened yet. This report will focus on the Oregon results. Part 2 will focus on the California results. Part 3 will put it all together.

According to Google, the 2012 Oregon Republican Primary has 94% reporting. Ron Paul received 12.8% of the votes in Oregon. 0.9% of population of Oregon voted for Ron Paul.

There are different imaged versions of Jefferson. 1 version only includes 1 county of Oregon. Another common version includes 4 counties. Still another includes 7 counties.

According to Wikipedia, only 1 country in Oregon ever voted in favor of creating Jefferson, Curry County. Ron Paul received 12.5% of the vote in Curry County, less than Oregon as a whole. The voters in the 4 county version of Jefferson gave Ron Paul 12.8% of the vote. The 7 county version gave Ron Paul 12.1% of the vote if you add up the 7 percentages and divide by 7. Alternatively, if you add up the total votes for all 7 counties and divide by the amount of votes Ron Paul received, it is 12.6% of the vote.

Ron Paul support in the Pacific Northwest 20%
Ron Paul support in Oregon 12.8%
Ron Paul support 1 Curry County, Oregon 12.5%
Ron Paul support in 4 county version of Jefferson 12.8% or alternatively, 12.9%
Ron Paul support in 7 county version of Jefferson 12.1% or alternatively, 12.6%

ALL of Oregon can remain Oregon. "Just" the California counties make Jefferson State economically, geographically & ideologically tenable.
