how we supposed to fight our enemies if they have automatic weapons, predator drones, explosives, armored vehicles, air support, artillery, and etc etc? .. while we only have, at best, semi-auto weapons? D=

Is that why you're going to Texas?

Think of it as a leadership challenge. How to deprive an opponent of his advantages and use yours.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Shame. Nothing encourages crime than not punishing it. You are letting them get away with it.FAIL.

    Only a temporary disadvantage.

If that becomes necessary -- and hopefully it won't -- it can be done through the methods of asymmetric/guerrilla warfare, like the Viet Cong, the Iraqis, and the Taliban. Much of it has to do with terrain: rugged mountains, heavy forests, and especially major urban areas all tend to level the playing field enormously.

By the way: Contrary to what you've seen in the movies, full-auto weapons rarely provide an advantage over semi-auto weapons, and even precision bolt-action weapons can be superior to either in some circumstances (i.e., at ranges beyond 400 yards or so). As for explosives, many people know how to make those. Go on YouTube to watch hobbyists set off their homemade stuff.

Besides, weapons of all kinds can be captured.
