    FEC Fundraising Reports Released

    January 1 to March 31

    Thomas Massie
    Contributions: $152,529
    Cash on Hand: $157,088

    Alecia Webb-Edgington
    Contributions: $115,831
    Cash on Hand: $100,505

    Gary Moore
    Contributions: $238,495
    Cash on Hand: $199,569

Looks like Moore might be a bigger challenger than Webb-Edgington.

A quick look at Moore's contributors reveals that he received $21,000 from 9 members of one family (8 who maxed out) all related to Griffin Industries, which is located near Boone County where Moore is the Judge Executive. It would be interesting to see if there are any "political" connections there. He has been the Judge Executive for his county since 1998.

He has more on hand than raised because I didn't include the $80,000 he loaned himself in contributions.

He has raised little to nothing. He's trying to do the "Im going to run without the influence of money" thing.

Big establishment donors, who supported Grayson, then turned around and donated to Rand as well. A few members of the family have donated to my democrat opponent in the past as they have a plant here in Logan County.

However, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul endorsed Massie on Friday, generating a flurry of campaign contributions over the weekend.

Massie campaign chairman Phil Moffett said the tea party darling received more than 200 contributions totaling $12,000 from 47 states since Paul encouraged tea party activists to get involved in the race on Friday.

Paul's endorsement is expected to fatten the Massie campaign's bank account heading into the final weeks before the May 22 primary.
