Default 48% of Brits want to get out of the UK

A sign of things to come in the U.S.?

Australia is top of the relocation wish list followed by the US, Canada and New Zealand.

The cost of living, weather, unemployment and crime are the most common reasons for wanting to quit Britain.

Pollsters YouGov quizzed 1,650 adults after The Sun told last week about Dave and Jackie Jones who emigrated to Australia with their 12 kids.

The family from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria — who have never claimed benefits — quit in despair at what they see as soft-touch Britain’s emphasis on state handouts instead of opportunities.

Dave, 42, said: “I have to do the best for my kids and I feel the opportunities I want for them will not be in the UK.”

Brain drain will happen due to high taxes, restrictions and less opportunities. As long we in US we don't put burden on individuals when it comes to starting business and let them keep most of what they earn, we won't face such a problem.

Majority of the countries these days are mix of socialism and capitalism. We are still a capitalist country but socialism is kicking in at a faster pace.

Brain drain happens when you invite the illiterate third world into your country.

Australia is a pretty good place to live. my brothers girlfriend moved over here from Maine and recently became a resident. She reckons it's a lot better over here. Getting citizenship is difficult but their is a high demand for skilled mining based jobs. They are particularly interested in skilled trades people from the US and the UK. Unfortunately Australia is going down hill a bit at the moment. The current government is shit and have fucked up the economy somewhat. Also our house prices are like 2006 New York unaffordability levels and many people think the housing market will crash this year.

We have a lot of deadly animals (spiders, snakes, Blue Ringed Octupuses, Box Jelly fish, Sharks etc) but they ar only located in certain areas of the country.

Actually its just the opposite. Freedom of immigration would bring in more smart, hard-working individuals who would make our corner of the globe a better place to live. Need to get rid of the welfare state though.

Right because all those mexicans are such good scientists and tech-heads. Have you taken a look at the IQ of mexico, C.A. and S.A? (IQ of nations. wikipedia) I mean that's who we're presently importing. Now if we brought in germans and certain asian countries, ok I'd agree.

Gresham's Law is not limited to coinage.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

I can see freedom as a good reason to move to Australia. If there are really better opportunities there I would consider it.

How many Americans want to move? If things keep getting worse here people will think about moving to places where the economy is doing better or better opportunities.

I thought about moving there because I believe Australia is a more laid back country as far as work. They have more vacations days from what I hear. Anyways, I just think the US is too focused on work versus enjoying life and that is one reason I consider moving to another country. Plus, the country always looks so cool in movies.

I have thought about moving to Australia or at least visiting for vacation. One thing scary is that 10 of the most venomous snakes live there.

But but I thought socialism works and is suppose to make everyone happy? Another stat is that almost 40% of Europeans are mentally ill. Come on, let's hold hands and sing together. Feel the warmth.
Be responsible. Take care of yourself. Don't tread on other people. Slow down. Question everything. Start now.
