I think that means they want primaries to keep activists out, when the party has the thumb on the scales they like caucuses, not when the caucuses are run fair and held up to the light.

i hope those santorum delegates might want to vote for Ron at the NRC after first round or when Santorum pledges them to Romney, I hope they don't follow Santorum's order and vote for Ron instead.
that is exactly what happened at the state NV convention in 2008 and the GOP had to flee and turn out the lights, they couldn't close the caucus.
