What's his race look like in OKlahoma? I'm a big RJ Harris fan.

It's a smart move. RJ Harris is an experienced movement member with a chance at a Congressional seat. He was fighting the tides in for the Presidential nomination, but for Congress, I think he could raise a lot of money from Ron Paul's core supporters.

Harris burned most bridges with Paul supporters in 2009.

Meh. To me, it seems a lot of that criticism was warranted.

Funny that, I would have thought that most Paul supporters would have been cheering along every word written there.

If not, this movement is in serious trouble once Ron takes his leave.

RJ seems like a decent enough guy, but I think he needs to develop his own persona and platform a bit. It's pretty cool that he's essentially speaking in nothing but Ron Paul talking points, but it almost seems forced at times. Who knows, maybe he just gets nervous during public speaking arrangements, and perhaps that's why he looks like he's about to rage all the time.

Not completely, but he did aggravate an already growing divide between some members of the Liberty movement and the purists over at lewrockwell.com and a few other places with a stronger concentration on foreign policy. Personally, I agree more with Harris' statement than what Rand was talking about, but the fact remains that we have to have a practical means of extending this movement, and RJ was being a little bit impractical in calling out Rand in the midst of an important Senate election.

RJ Harris can kiss my ass. He burned every last bridge with me when he thought insulting Rand would divert more money into his own coffers.

And why should I be angered by his comments?

    How did he insult Rand?

Publicly criticizing the only leading liberty candidate, at a time just after he had taken a three point lead in the polls. Harris was clearly trying to get people to donate to him by going after Rand Paul. What purpose did he have to attack Paul anyway? Harris was a candidate for a House seat in Oklahoma, Paul was a candidate for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky, and both were in the same political party. Harris could have gone after any number of socialist Democrats or neocon Republicans or his actual primary opponent (shocking idea, sure), but he choose to go after, again, the only one of "our" major liberty candidates with a lead in the polls at the time.

Not to mention Harris used fake polls from Persistence Consulting (same as used by Bill Johnson in Kentucky) to make his race seem winnable and to get people to donate. See also:

You sound like the stereotypical republican who stands by party unity rather than principles. What, Rand or his father are immune to criticism from those who care about liberty? Nothing in Harris' post suggests that he was bashing Rand so you're just grasping at straws.

Didn't realize he was that blackballed. I personally don't care for the guy, but he seemed popular so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

It happened. Harris' fundraising was sucking air, so he apparently thought if he bashed Rand effectively enough, that people would channel their donations to him, instead.

Harris chose to go after Rand Paul. Why not anyone else? Are we to believe Paul was the most egregious candidate for office out there, and that Harris was so moved to speak, or was there some other motive?

Harris was trying to rally an upset DailyPaul to ditch Paul and donate to him. That's what he was doing, plain as day. Ron Paul never used his race in TX-14 to go after a freshman candidate in, say, NY-3. Rand Paul was not Harris' opponent, so why say anything? Especially when Paul was closer to him ideologically than almost any other federal candidate running that year. Harris' choice to attack Paul unprovoked was just bizarre.

Ah, I see what you're saying. I must have missed this a couple years ago.

He's running as an independent? Seems like a waste of time and money, to be completely honest.
