Uh, yeah. I was regular at Rick's Army. I just visited there about 10 minutes ago and got the message above. It was a complete shock--and almost like a slap in the face.

If they had said, "This forum will be closing in a month," I would have been fine with that. Or even, "This forum will be closing in a week." But pronto??? I mean, Huck's Army has been around for 4+ years since Huckabee dropped out, and Rick's Army can't even stay around for 4+ hours???

So how did I find this thread? Easy. I did a Google search on "Rick's Army closed" and voila!!!

If anyone from Rick's Army reads this, please know that I'll miss you guys and wish you all the best. Sorry that the folks in charge didn't give us all a chance to say a proper goodbye.

That was fast. Unexpected, too: to the extent that Santorum's followers had a consistent ideology, one would think that they would want to coordinate a strategy going forward.
Slamming the door shut on us was a bit rude. Probably not intentionally so, but rude nonetheless. BTW, a message on the Web site says:

"This website is not owned or operated by any candidate or political campaign."
So it wasn't an official site or anything.

Well, maybe I can find a good therapist now who can help me overcome the shock of being booted out of Rick's Army! LOL.

Anyway, I wish you Paul supporters all the best.

    @ Neptune:

I would occasionally visit the Rick's Army website, to see what you guys were thinking, so I recognize your handle. Regarding your comment

I mean, Huck's Army has been around for 4+ years since Huckabee dropped out, and Rick's Army can't even stay around for 4+ hours???
I'm kind of surprised, because I believe that the Huck's Army and the Rick's Army were started and run by the same grassroots people.

I'm sure that no-one on this forum would object if you and compatriots from the "Rick's Army" site met and discussed things here on this particular "Opposing Candidates" subforum. Most importantly, take a look around and you might find that you have more in common than you might initially think with us Ron Paul people. In fact, I think we could do a lot of good working together! So if you have a way to reach out to your old friends, suggest that to them. As the avatar of one of our RP members says, "Come over to the dark side... We have Cookies" haha

Take a look at this video which describes in part how some important evangelical leaders are now coming over to Ron Paul:

Neptune, you sound like a totally cool and loyal partisan of Rick Santorum, and even though i have been one of his most caustic critics here,
if this is any consolation to you, in less than four years time i expect he will have gone back to Iowa and McKinley gladhanded the other half
of the state he didn't this time around. The bugle will summon RicksArmy together once again, even though HucksArmy will be in rarified form.
I think he has at least three good potus runs in him, and like Sarah Palin, age will only make the candidate either more foolish or wiser. This all
may feel abrupt right now, but if he has over-spent his contributions, even the website is an added cost only partially paid for. Dr Ron Paul tries
not to spend beyond his means and he raised a very similar amount this time to what he did in 2008 but managed to go further with it. If I now
go totally banal and mention Mitt Romney's learning curve, i think this time some four years ago Mitt cut his self a 42 million dollar check. We all
know Rick Santorum is not a multimillionaire and he worked hard to get where he is. Personally I feel he's a jingoist of the first order & has a high
probability of plunging us into a unnecessary and unasked for war, but i do respect the man for his dogged determination when he eyes a goal!!!

Neptune... Sen. Rick Santorum will be back eventually.
Right now we all are trying to turn the GOP convention
in Tampa Florida into a highly interesting event all told.
Multiple-Choise-Mitt is about to flipflop back to being a
tad left of Bill Clinton. We want to put a few obstacles
in the way so he won't find his magic 1145 delegates in
any hurry. There is no secret deal between the Paul and
Romney campaigns, the rumor about Rand Paul came from
the media people who were Romney friendly. Doug Wead
practically said this the other day. If we can get enuff of
the Tampa delegates together, Mitt will be blocked even
though the mass media thinks its all a done deal cakewalk.

I'm a Baystater and have only
    recently gotten over my shock
over how our Gentleman Mitt is
actually a rock ribbed true blue
    conservative of the first order.
    i know what his governorship
was like. am still surprised at
his new found set of beliefs.

Sorry to hear that the website was taken off-line so abruptly.

To any of Rick's supporters who venture into this forum ... Welcome !!!

We might have a difference of opinion about the ideal candidate, but I have yet to meet a supporter of Santorum, who is not motivated to remove Obama from office, so ... Study Ron Paul while you are here, ask any question you wish, and hopefully our members can convince you that RP is the better choice that the flip-flopping creator of RomneyCare.
Let them keep thinking Ron Paul supporters are just a little army. Every military strategy manual in the world has examples of the bad things that happen to arrogant commanders of massive armies that underestimate the enemy. They all lose. We will win because the human heart, despite its detractors, is meant for truth and freedom.
