U.S. Seizing Foreign Websites, Charging Foreigners with Crimes

This is an outrage. I personally don't believe in gambling, but I think people should have that right if they so choose. What's worse is this is an international company based in Canada, that's website was seized by the U.S. government. This is outside the U.S. jurisdiction. The founder, and a few employees, none of which live in or are US citizens, are being charged with money laundering and operating an illegal gambling ring.

This is just about as bad as the U.S. DEA arresting Marc Emery, a Canadian citizen, living and residing in Canada. Canadian law didn't want to arrest and prosecute him, but the U.S. went in and extradited him to the U.S. to face charges.

These two incidents (and many more, such as Megaupload) set a bad precedent that the U.S. government can arrest anyone in the world, in any country they choose, for committing U.S. crimes, even if they are not crimes in the country they are in, or are not a U.S. citizen.

Wouldn't want people to quit playing state sponsored lotteries now would we?
