My school has produced the EKG, gastroscope, polio vaccine, the insulin pump, the genetic mapping for sickle cell anemia, the discovery of the genes that cause cystic fibrosis, the gene that marks the deadliest form of prostate cancer, the creation of the machine that screens for diabetic neuropathy, etc.
That's only from the medical school.
Last year the university announced that research at the university produced 322 new inventions that fiscal year, and filed for 122 patents.
