BMI is a rather poor guideline because there are some people who may be 35+ that aren't fat. Also, I have a friend who is an RN and definitely fat. She's a great nurse, so really they are doing themselves a disservice with this silly guideline.
Fat people have more health problems, and therefore there's more profit for the hospital. Plus, over half of this country is fat. That policy would quickly put them out of business.
The bar is extremely low. I realized that the other day as I watched a 300 pounder waddle into a McDonalds. No pride. No sense of embarrassment. It's sad.
