Help Ron Paul Win South Dakota: Phase II (Urgent Request)

Thanks to everyone who helped with the third party mailer project here.
http://sdronpaul.chipin.com/mailer-t...e-for-ron-paul The mailers will be going out this week. We had to eat about $300 of the cost ourselves but that's OK.

Now we're on to phase 2. There's a lot of rural republicans that are hard to reach with canvasing. Rural SD is also where our greatest support was for Ron Paul 4 years ago. So we need to make sure they're aware Ron Paul is in the race AND make sure they turn out to vote.

In the previous chip-in I had estimated the cost to be around $15-$20 Thousand. We've since secured the services of a bulk rate shipper who likes Ron Paul, and which the drop in postage, we now believe we'll only need $6000.

Please help us with this project. this is low hanging fruit and we need to make sure they turn out. Primary turnout in this state is typically low, so every vote counts. Every couple percentages points Ron Paul gets is another delegate for us, and another one Romney doesn't get.

Yes, everyone please understand that as far as I know:

There is NO money being spent in South Dakota.

There is NO official campaign in South Dakota.

There is not even a state coordinator appointed in South Dakota.

Yet, Ron Paul won the one scientific S.D. poll that was done. Ron Paul has, I think, a good chance of winning in South Dakota. A non-trivial chance.

Let's get behind the grassroots and give them what they need to do well and possibly win!

We rented the biggest blimp in the world last time without forming a PAC. The grassroots spent millions of dollars doing all kinds of stuff. We didn't report a dime. Nobody's in prison. I think the risk for this is minimal.

These are mailers. It'll say "Paid for by individuals. Not supported by any campaign on the bottom." It's perfectly legal.

You're all individuals.

Yeah, if these were a 1 large TV ad buy, or something like that, we'd have a problem, but this is direct mail.

Correct. This is not a donation to the campaign, and it will not go to maxing you out.

Thank you. No you're not donating to the campaign. This is a local ad hoc grassroots effort. The campaign really isn't spending any money here yet.

Tracy, I'm fielding questions from some volunteers in Louisiana on how best to help out now that our caucus has come-and-gone. While our delegation will remain focused on the state convention to come, we still have a lot of active volunteers that want to stay involved.

Sure, they can do phone-from-home and I *am* pushing that a bit, but it's not for everybody.

So, my question to you is: Is there anyway (above-and-beyond financial support) that these volunteers might be able to help you?

A few people have asked me. Why don't we just contact the Super Brochure guys.

Well, the main reason is expense. We can buy 18,000 super-brochures from them. Have our bulk mailer ship them out for about 20 cents each (= $3,600 for Postage). Pay an extra 2 cents a copy to have them print the address on it, and to it completely for about $6,000.

The Super Brochures are spending over 50 cents a piece if you average it out, which would cost us around $9000.

So by us doing it ourselves we're actually saving about $3,000. Possibly more depending on how think shake out.

Does the information you're sending tell the recipient how to become a delegate?

That's already over with. Delegate selection was in March. Every candidate has a slate. That slate's on the ballot. What percentage we get in our primary will determine how many of our slate goes and how many of Mitt RowneyCare's goes.

a Person had to file to run to be precinct committeeman or committeewoman by the Primary filing deadline Mid March also.

That's stuff's over with.

I have a LOT of Ron Paul flyers and stuff left over from the Louisiana campaign which I don't really think we need anymore. I'll contact our regional director to be sure, but if we don't need it would it help at all if I sent it to you?

I have boxes and boxes full of these things. Mostly they are issue flyers and the like.
