Default True or False......Delegate question (Texas)

    True Or Flase?

Ok I have 35 delegates open in my precicnt. If we get 20 delegates for Ron Paul, 7 for Sandy, 5 for mit and 3 for newt. Can I call for a discussion and ask that only us 20 go since we are the majority (50%) , get someone to 2nd me and then get a vote? If we get more then half of the vote then we get the whole slate??

I'm assuming you are in a county having precinct conventions. The delegates you are choosing are to go to the next convention level (county or state senate district) on April 14th or 21st. Your delegate list has room for 35 delegates and 35 alternates. Try to have BEFORE the convention, a list of 35 Ron Paul supporters who will go to the county/SD convention for your proposed slate (note that they do not necessarily have to be present at the precinct convention to be on the list, but credentialing them later will probably be easier if they are there. plus, you'll need their votes)

If you have more spaces than Ron Paul supporters and there are others who want to go, it would be hard to keep them off the delegate list. I'm not sure exactly what the rules say on this point, but common sense says it would be kind of rude not to put anyone else's name on the list when there is space.

Moral; get your people and get them to the convention.
