Porcupines love exchanging goods and services, right? This year at PorcFest, we want to exchange your services for money.

That's right: the areas that need expert attention are those that will receive compensation. We are accepting proposals for security, cleaning, trash removal, registration, promotion, speaker handlers, and stage managers. If there is another area that you think could use someone to run it with the proper incentive structure in place, submit a proposal.

Proposals need to include contact information, expected wages, number of workers, and additional needs.

    Interested candidates can email Sharon.Osborne@Porcfest.com.

Once submitted, let the negotiations begin.

    Volunteers
Volunteers will also be needed for more basic jobs such as bag stuffing, event assistance, and promotion. Volunteering is a great way to connect with other porcupines.

    Stage Team
Team of 3 people. This team will make sure that set-up/clean-up for events occurs, transitions are smooth, the stage is properly set-up and that key people are where they need to be. The ideal candidate will need to have technical know-how to set-up audio and microphones. Good people skills are a must.

    Bands & Entertainment
JJ Schlesinger is heading up this department. Please email Bands@PorcFest.com to connect with him about music or entertainment possibilities.

    Support
While registration fees cover basic costs, the actual price of making PorcFest an invaluable learning experience and memorable vacation is much more. Speakers, bands, forums, family activities and special events require the generous contributions of Sponsor Porcupines.

Email Support@Porcfest.com for more details on donations & sponsorship/VIP programs.

    Newsletter
TinyLetter is a new service the Happy Porcupine will be adding this year that will be less stylized and more of an informational email from the Porcfest team so you can stay up-to-date with the latest news and needs. It will be supplemental to the full editions of the Newsletters. Sign up for the Happy Porcupine TinyEdition HERE.

While I’m not personally celebrating Easter, I know many of you do….but more importantly, I realized this week that as of today we only have 70 days to Porcfest 2012 so I thought it was a good time to send out a registration reminder. Just over TWO MONTHS! Are you READY!?

This isn't about Happy Porcupine but I found it very interesting. Boston T. Party was a featured speaker at Liberty Forum in the past but he has never been to Porcfest. If you don't know about Boston T. Party, he is best known for writing Boston's Gun Bible but he has also written other freedom related books. He is the leader of Free State Wyoming.

Free State Wyoming (FSW) is a political migration project whose goal is to bring people of "demonstrably ethical character" to the state of Wyoming in the western United States to encourage "political liberty, free trade and voluntary cooperation."
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_State_Wyoming

Unfortunately, the movers to Wyoming almost universally rarely or never do political activism. Wikipedia isn't always the best source of information

Anyway, here is part of Boston's post on the FSP Forum about him attending Porcfest for the first time.

I've wanted for years to make one of these, but usually had my
own gig going on the same weekend, or was in Africa hunting.
It's time that I took a break, as the revised/expanded Hologram of Liberty
is now at print, with a mid-June release (including Kindle).
I'm very excited to visit you all again in N.H., and experience the PorcFest for the first time.
    For Liberty,
    Boston T. Party
    http://forum.freestateproject.org/in...?topic=25193.0

Do you want to meet Boston? Do you want him to sign a book for you? Do you want to debate him about WY/NH? Do you want to ask him a gun question? Come to Porcfest. He hasn't announce the exact dates he will be at Porcfest but it is pretty safe to assume he will be at Porcfest for at least the weekend.

    Special Porcfest Announcement
We are pleased and excited to announce that best-selling author, anarcho-capitalist, and all-around great guy, F. Paul Wilson will be joining Porcfest this year!

Paul is the author of the phenomenal “Repairman Jack” novels as well as over forty novels, novellas, short stories and scripts. A physician, Paul won the first-ever Prometheus Award from the Libertarian Futurist Society for his novel “Wheels Within Wheels”. He won a second Prometheus for his 2003 novel “Sims”. If that’s not enough, Paul also has been inducted into the Prometheus Hall of Fame, won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Horror Writers of America, received the Stoker Award, the Porgie Award, the ComiCon Inkpot Award, the Pioneer Award from the RT Booklovers Convention, and was named a Grand Master by the World Horror Convention. His latest work, forthcoming in late May from TOR books, is the eagerly awaited “Nightworld”, the epic conclusion to the Repairman Jack series that ties in events from his phenomenal “Adversary Cycle”. BUY IT!

Paul will be joining Porcfest on the evening of Thursday, June 21, and will spend an hour with fellow Porcupines on Friday, discussing his work, his inspiration, and his ideas on freedom. Saturday, the 22nd, will see Paul as one of our featured judges for the Porcfest Flash Fiction Competition, in which contestants will be given a limited amount of time to write an original piece of fiction, read it, and then prepare to be judged for their skill! Paul has also warmly agreed to participate as a judge in Saturday night’s Soapbox Idol, so get ready for some fun! You can’t avoid it when F. Paul Wilson is nearby!

The good Ron Paul activists from MA will be at Porcfest again this year. It is always nice saying hi to the MA folks. Every year a new crop of them end up moving to NH It is nice to see how the progress after moving here. I see more and more of them running for office. Some are locally elected. Some are in the state legislature. Some are in legislative leadership. Some are on the NH GOP State Committee. At least one is running for office for the first time this year.

Some people might have heard about the Trainwreck which costs $10 and is sold by George's Famous Baklava at Porcfest and think food is expensive at Porcfest. Sure, a Trainwreak is expensive but most food isn't expensive at Porcfest. However, a Trainwreck is a gyro with a 5X5 bacon weave instead of bread. Well, George is the bacon man. After all, he did cook 180 pounds of bacon for Porcfest and then wrap it up to look like cocaine.

For example, ItaliaRican Kitchen has both a breakfast combo and a lunch/dinner combo.
Breakfast combo: Two eggs, three pancakes, one strip of bacon and a beverage for $5
Meal combo: One burger, one hot dog, two strips of bacon and one beverage for $5

The snack menu meals at ItalianRican Kitchen are also reasonably priced.
    Snack menu
Sandwich crackers: 50 cents each or three for $1
Nature Valley granola bars: $2 each or two for $3
Trail mix: $1.50 each or three for $4
Cereal bars: 50 cents each or three for $1

ItaliaRican kitchen accepts FRNs, Shire Silver and copper rounds.
