Thread: Progressives, it’s time to go buy your guns.

Progressives, it’s time to go buy your guns.

Here's an interesting twist on the right to bear arms:

    ...
(and I realize that this part is just pure paranoia)– I’d like to know that if things ever really degrade, there would be a whole lot of armed liberals out there to keep the armed conservatives in check.
Progressives, it’s time to go buy your guns.

That was something else. He can't envision a crack head accosting him, but a few space cadets who want fewer taxes and less spending may well form roving gangs and commit a genocide against "liberals" in the coming economic collapse and following mayhem! the sad thing is I've got a sinking feeling this thought may be pervasive in a certain faction of the left.

My god, that article was stupid on so many levels.

And that snootypants can't even spell "disdain."
Well, I got Rand started on his campaign (just search around here to see). I advised Thomas Massie before he ran for Congress. I am currently advising 2 liberty campaigns for the state legislature. I ran the war-room and won Minnesota for Ron Paul a few weeks back. There are other things I'm probably forgetting.

Yes, the cable TV stereotype of Tea Partiers (for example) left a strong impression on many people.

Too bad he is correct about this:
I can no longer pretend that the U.S. is the stable and secure place I always knew it to be.

    Money Quote:

Their comfort and knowledge of firearms made me feel nervous. I was in store full of 50+ people who didn’t feel at all shy about expressing their distain for liberals and “socialists”. All of them, I’m convinced, would have had no trouble gunning me down in an honest firefight.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

He's only correct in warning the progressives to arm up ... If things go deep south, and civil war occurs, that group will be considered an enemy to many, or so it seems.
Let them keep thinking Ron Paul supporters are just a little army. Every military strategy manual in the world has examples of the bad things that happen to arrogant commanders of massive armies that underestimate the enemy. They all lose. We will win because the human heart, despite its detractors, is meant for truth and freedom.

I don't know..I'd be a bit hesitant to encourage progressives to buy guns when they are confused about property rights.

The logical outcome of the deliberate factionalization of the American people: firefights based on which "team" you used to belong to in the pre-apocalyptic sham political system. *contemptuous snort*
The proper concern of society is the preservation of individual freedom; the proper concern of the individual is the harmony of society.

It's ok, in a fully armed society they would either figure them out right quick or be shot trying to steal something from another armed persons home.

Hey, it worked once before didn't it?

I'm actually much more optimistic that the global elite won't get away with it again though now that so many are actually waking up to what's going on in the world.

But that doesn't mean things might not get bad in the inner cities.

Oh my god! That was the biggest example of irony i've EVER had the pleasure of reading! BIG +Rep for the OP for posting it here. After reading it (I wish there was more I was glued and hungry for more) I was hoping he would follow up with:

"Now that I've had this experience, I've decided I'm going to shoot myself with my new gun. The reasons being that I don't know a damned thing about it, it will promote more gun grab laws hearing the news of my death, and I'll stop being a closet conservative/branch davidian/militia/hipster."

Seriously this piece was like Sigfried and Roy saying they were not gay and out to ban/demonize same sex marriage!

Grief... what a nervous and ignorant little pansy. The article was a waste of time to read. I should slap the OP around a bit for that, luring me to waste my time in such an atrocious manner as that.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

I guess some people will have to fight for the benevolent state after they destroy our society.

    Complete tripe.

Supposed right wingers get guns to protect their families from home invasion and from the STATE. This dolt is scarred of these defensive minded people because he does not understand the position of said "right wingers"...and thus goes on the offensive. Typical socialist hypocracy.

Which is why this whole article was HILARIOUS. This guy is a MEME waiting to happen. I mean look at the huge morsals of closet self loathing behavior:

"If you’re skeptically minded, you may be thinking that I’m being alarmist or that my anxiety is premature. You’re right of course. But there’s logic behind my madness."

"I’m not saying that the U.S. is poised for such a revolution, of course- but I am saying that things could turn ugly here, very quickly."

"I’m not a paranoid person. I enjoy reading the masturbatory rants of the folks who contribute to forums about the upcoming collapse of society, or post survivalist or “prepper” videos on youtube, or fret about “Peak Oil”. And also- (and I realize that this part is just pure paranoia)– "

But I take all these things with more than a grain of salt. For the most part they are unsupported (or poorly supported) fears mixed with outright delusions. --> It is no longer unreasonable to think that things may go from bad to much, much worse. I’m not saying that an economic collapse will happen, or even that it it is likely to happen. Nor can I begin to predict the severity or duration of any crash that might occur. But in the current political climate it feels foolhardy to ignore the possibility that something very bad is on the horizon."
I think the meme would be like a picture of Romney/obama saying one thing with one side of his mouth and another completely opposite saying that contradicts himself with the otherside of his mouth.

    Old article.

I stopped reading after, "But, the rational pragmatist in me has never been able to actually justify owning a gun."
“One may come to the aid of another being unlawfully arrested, just as he may where one is being assaulted, molested, raped or kidnapped. Thus it is not an offense to liberate one from the unlawful custody of an officer, even though he may have submitted to such custody, without resistance.” (Adams v. State, 121 Ga. 16, 48 S.E. 910).

Fortunately progressives won't be able to use them. They don't have the courage and self discipline requirred to be good marksman.
