Question Romney, Santorum, Gingrich and Obama Comment on Trayvon Martin Case; Paul Silent

    http://www.examiner.com/political-bu...martin-tragedy

Noticeably absent from the discussion is GOP nominee Rep. Ron Paul who has not commented on Martin’s killing.

Another day, another reason to be proud I'm a RP supporter.

What is he supposed to say? "Sorry your son got shot. I know you probably have not heard of me, but I am offering condolences so the media will cover me" sounds pretty hollow, and is not Ron's way.

    The other guys, however...

I do get Obama weighing in, since after all the Justice Department (lol) has already stepped in.
Genuine, willful, aggressive ignorance is the one sure way to tick me off. I wish I could say you were trolling. I know better, and it's just sad.

To me, this is just like a Kony 2012 bandwagon. People are killed unjustly everyday. I think it's wrong for this to be a national issue.
"You can prevent crimes by becoming a Police State. So if you advocate the Police State............the crime then will be against the American People and against Our Freedoms. And we will throw out so much of what Our Revolution was fought for." - Ron Paul, Nov. 22, 2011

Witness Says He Saw Trayvon Attack Zimmerman (Video)
“The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: ‘help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911,” he said.

Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red.

The witness only wanted to be identified as “John,” and didn’t not want to be shown on camera.
I think there is more to the story than we know.
I'm glad that Ron didn't comment on this.

Just like the media won't cover Ron Paul, they also won't cover the fact that Treyvon Martin attacked the old man before the old man shot him.

28 years old make a person an "old man"?

Attacking a person makes them innocent?

Did he attack him? I haven't heard a lot about it, other than a boy got shot while walking home.
I always find it interesting that these type of stories get national attention, then I remember Prison Break:

This doesn't make any sense. There is no evidence that the 17 yo attacked the 28 yr old. The earlier link in this thread doesn't change anything, the witness didn't see who initiated the attack and it doesn't matter who was screaming. The 28 yo old could have been screaming because he was getting punched in self-defense by the teenager. Clearly the 28 yo has some problems (> 40 calls to 911 in the previous year) and should be arrested.

Agreed. Where's the justice for the innocent Muslims killed in the War on Terror? Why aren't professional basketball teams wearing burqas in a show solidarity? Oh, right, that would actually take courage!

i think they are trying to spin it in a way to say that Ron is racist =P... not because he is not trying to attention whore. Trying to bring up the newsletter again and what not.

I agree. Ron would be asked something like this "According to your newsletters, Trayvon Martin would be treated like a criminal. Thoughts?"

Ron should say something though... like "I won't comment on it until more is known or real facts are known"... then switch and sneak in some foreign policy on how "You can't say or do things without all possible evidence and that all the evidence is verified my multiple sources. You might regret what you say or do."

In all fairness, the kid WAS treated like a criminal (per the 9-1-1 tape).

People with judgment don't make public pronouncements when the facts are not all known.

that is ridiculous. Someone had put tripe in his newsletters but that particular quote was about how racist the criminal justice system was, with that high a percentage of criminals being minorities. Ron mentions that frequently, and HE's not the one being racist, he thinks the system is biased.

There's a difference between not commenting and ignoring if you are asked.

He's running for President he doesn't need to issue a statement.

BUT if he is asked I'd expect he'd have an opinion. As far as I know he has not been asked.
Ron Paul: "For those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do."

From what I've read the guy shot the kid and he had no reason to. He says he was hit but there is no proof and if there was then it wouldn't be a international sensation now...the cops would've just patted him on the back and told him "good job".

Why would a moderator move this to 'media spin'? Have not the others listed in the title commented on this while Paul has not? Have we gotten to the point where true facts are "media spin"?

It is Media Spin. They are making it seem like RP doesn't care and that is why he didn't comment on it when in reality he hasn't even been asked.

Maybe Dr. Paul won't comment because he understands justice is not to be perverted by opinions... popular or otherwise. In other news another child was killed on the southside today... but f that kid cause.... well because hes death is not divisive enough.
    Best of luck in life.

He did comment on this but only to say that he wouldn't be commenting.

Personally, I think the only question Ron Paul should bring up, if to lend any commentary at all, as to this obvious attempt at race-baiting, is where were President Barry Soetoro’s (Barack H. Obama) compassionately comparative words when Oscar Grant was shot in the back by BART Police while laying surrounded by several other “police officers” and handcuffed face first on a subway platform (which consequently caused a brief rioting atmosphere in Oakland, CA)?

Or for that matter how about the Danziger Bridge police assignations following the Katrina disaster, or even the undercover police shooting of Adolph Grimes on New Year’s 2012 in New Year’s, and about a dozen other such similarly fatal incidents involving gross abuse of policing powers of recent years? Where were Mr. Soetoro’s kind words for those atrocities?

Obama is largely responsible for spawning this whole Trayvon boondoggle that has spun far out of control. So now Mr. Soetoro may add separatist to the list of things that he most definitely is.
