Thread: My very recent experience with the police

Had a buddy of mine tell me his son got in some trouble on his senior trip for spring break.

They got pulled over for speeding, and the cop asked them to open the trunk. They did. There was about $900 worth of booze in there for them all to party with on their trip. All confiscated and got a Minor in Possession charge.

Too bad they didn't know they don't have to open their trunk for the cops.

Second of all, if you're not under arrest they have no authority to hold you until someone else comes to pick you up. The only way they could force you to get a different ride is to arrest you and impound your car.

Ask me what firstly is. I dare you.

I guess being a nondescript middle-aged white guy doth have it's advantages (note, I have no idea who the original poster is, just my personal experience).

I used to get lot's of speeding tickets when I was younger because I sped a lot and my first car was bright yellow and stood out, I mean I racked up a couple dozen driving infractions by the time I was in my mid/late 20's.

Never did have the cops hassle me, other than giving me a ticket, and the only time I had any real trouble at all is when I was in a different, rural county and got pulled over for speeding with an expired license. The local town cops made me come to the station and wait in the lobby until my brother brought me $150 to pay them the ticket up front. Funny thing is when I went to court for this ticket the judge had no record of my speeding ticket or paying that $150 even though I had a receipt so he reimbursed me for it.

I still had to pay a $70 ticket for driving on on expired license though.

This. Cops don't want to "waste" their time fighting someone. If they think you're unlikely to go down without a fight (in court, not physical), then they're less likely to ticket you.

I hate threads where the OP makes a statement, then deletes everything they initially wrote.

    So,
With absolutely nothing to go on .... It's seems obvious that the OP screwed something up
Let them keep thinking Ron Paul supporters are just a little army. Every military strategy manual in the world has examples of the bad things that happen to arrogant commanders of massive armies that underestimate the enemy. They all lose. We will win because the human heart, despite its detractors, is meant for truth and freedom.
