I'm with both of you on this, I understand people's intentions with the NOBP mantra, but when you really think about it that's not going to accomplish anything, not that I'm saying GJ will win, but we can let the GOP know what they allowed to slip through their hands.

I realize for some Gary's abortion/gay stance isn't in line with you (it's not in line with me either for the record) but it's like I try to say when people disagree with Ron on those issues: Are those really the two things you think will sink or swim this nation? I say let's bicker over those issues at another time, for me right now the 3 big dogs are: Wars, Debt, Rights ie getting rid of the Patriot Act, NDAA, etc.

Votes for Mickey Mouse, Santa, etc SHOULD be counted and if its too much work for them I think they need to be fired for doing their job wrong.
I mean, I wrote in Dr. Paul last time and have no regrets about that, but you have to realize that even if it's counted, a write-in is extremely inneffective (you're never going to get soft supporters to vote for someone who's not on the ballot) and only likely to show less of our numbers in the outcome... It doesn't matter how things should be, what matters is what the perception will be about the movement, and if the votes don't show up, then as far as the public is concerned, we didn't vote.

Many here have said that Mittens would have to make some major concessions for Dr. paul to be on the ticket, so why then are some opposed to rallying behind the guy on the ballot in all 50 states who far from just making concessions, but is arguing for what we know is right. I mean, imagine if he got the estaimated 15-20% that Dr. paul polls as a third-party. That makes us an extremely important voting block if we vote the same way in numbers..

I'm seriously thinking it will be the best use of our leverage to rally behind Gary Johnson. Before I get flamed for that, what differences we have with him are (to me) balanced by the fact that he stands against Patroit Act, NDAA, etc., is against our foreign policy and in favor of sound money...

I did actually write Dr. Paul in last time, but this isn't a cult of personality and our numbers are too big for votes not to be counting.... Again, the debate should probably be for another day when we actually see how it shakes out, but I strongly think that rallying behind a party on the ballot in 50 states that stands for the issues we know are the most important issues, would be the best way to show the strength in numbers of our message.
Paul/Johnson or Johnson/Paul 2012 if the gop shuts out ron paul. If ron paul doesn't run. My wife will be supporting Gary Johnson. The biggest kick in the balls to gop status quo. Is to get 15% support nationally. Then Gary would be on the debate stage unless gary steps aside to allow a Paul/Johnson Ticket One way or another ,the liberty movement is going national in 2012 on the debate stage. This country does not have 4 more years to wait.

My thoughts exactly... It's probably going to be a long time before you have a candidate like Dr. Paul that you agree with on 99% of the issues... What's important are the issues that Gary agrees with us on.

I would much rather vote for Gary Johnson than write in Ron Paul. I actually like him a lot. I agree with him on most things, probably equally as many as I do Dr. Paul.

A great showing for a Libertarian nominee is more powerful than a write in campaign. They may not even report the write in numbers for weeks.

I think Gary Johnson would be an excellent President, far better than Santorum, Romney or Obama. That alone is reason enough for me to vote for him. If you really do want to make an impact, I say vote for Gary Johnson. This only applies if Ron Paul doesn't win the Republican nomination.

They'll probably give the Paul write in votes to Mitt anyway.

Volunteers need to place old fashioned ballot boxes for your precinct, and allow write in votes to be cast into it. Just set it up like they did in the old days.

On a secondary note, we need to seriously start the buzz about third party conservative wing with Ron Paul at the helm.
Don't reinvent it just reestablish it. But we MUST break off from the current form of leadership both party's have adopted, ie: playing both sides against the people.

I think Ron or Rand will get the VP nod or a cabinet spot from Romney, if so I will vote for the GOP ticket.

If Ron is on the CP, LP or AE ballot then I will vote for him.

If not then Gary, if he's not on the ballot then Buddy if he is.

If none of that then I will write in Ron.

What statement is made if we all divide our votes? That the movement has no glue?

No there will be debates about which way to go forward once we see how everything shakes out, thus why I said it's too early to have this debate.

Though the point you make is why I'm making the argument to rally behind the guy who shows our strength in numbers, but who said that our votes will be divided though? Seems to me that discussions like this are to see that it doesn't happen like that.... Further, it won't be until that time (should he not get the nomination) that we even know who Dr. paul endorses or recommends as our next step.
