Angry CFR: Viewpoint of Russia Unreal You Have to read this.

Ok whoever tweeted me that CFR site made me furious
    http://www.cfr.org/russian-fed/media...al-vote/p27565

But I think because around the world we're seeing political awakenings, we're seeing regimes in the Middle East fall, it's important to put what's happened in Russia in that context, because that's sort of what everybody is doing.

And I do think that it's important to distinguish between, let's say, regimes in the Middle East, which were extremely isolated and enjoyed minimal popular legitimacy, with the Putin regime. I mean, we can argue about the numbers. We know that it wasn't free and fair. We know that the -- that the books were cooked to some extent.
Speak for yourself CFR i know that every candidate in America has been a member of your club and with it it has always started every since with Reagen now what was so great about Reagen again?

SESTANOVICH: So I think that's an important part.

With missile defense, the Russians are always on a hair trigger to say goofy things. But that -- but those goofy things are not the only things that get said.
And look what the CFR Punks and Thugs are saying about the freedom in the press in Russia what a double standard.

    SESTANOVICH

Well, freedom of the press in Russia is a very mixed picture, because you can read any nasty thing you want in the newspapers, but you cannot say any nasty thing you want on television. And in fact, many people are blacklisted from television. I mean, just to give you one example, the most interesting charismatic new political figure to emerge from this whole period of popular mobilization is this guy Alexei Navalny. He hasn't been on TV once. (Laughs.) In any system where journalists were able to make their choices as to who to have on television on the basis of what they think people would be interested in, you would be -- you would have a mad scramble to book Alexei Navalny. But when Alexei Navalny was booked for one show, that show was cancelled.

Alexei Navalny again? doesn't CFR Sestanovich that that Alexei has a Skinhead nationalist past? which a lot of Russians dont agree upon with?

SESTANOVICH: Oh, regime change. You know, Putin is going to try like hell. There were a lot of people in December who were saying, you know, we really -- the jig is up, our system is as doomed as Mubarak's. And Putin gave a hell of a show of being able to mobilize popular opinion in a way that Mubarak never could. You know, you didn't see Mubarak managing to bring together competing rallies in downtown Cairo in which he got as many emotional people as his opposition.
    Nice false statements by Sestanovich.

    More double standard.

SESTANOVICH: Well, I -- you know, I -- when I get asked a question like that, I always say: But you know, Russia pretends to be a democracy and wants to be accepted in Europe as a democracy, with its own characteristics and its own slower path toward the full realization of, you know, normal European democratic practice.e
You have to be joking me pretends to be a democracy? ok i could say the same thing about the Canadian, And American elections to then.
Because its pretty obvious who will win in Nov.

And that means it's harder to actually make the system work. That's why the term "managed democracy" was created. (Chuckles.) It meant we can't really have a full democracy. We have to manage it. And that means they get in the position of having to abuse democratic norms.

So the idea that you would end up with a conflict between Russia and other, fully democratic states as to where they -- how much they've actually progressed toward real democracy -- that seems to me not at all surprising.

Well please read the rest if your interesting in knowing who this Sestanovich person here you go.
He later served as ambassador-at-large and special adviser to the secretary of state for the new independent states of the former Soviet Union under United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright (1997–2001).

In addition to his teaching duties, he is currently the George F. Kennan Senior Fellow for Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations

The CFR Control Canada, America and as you have seen with that article they have a double stand point view of Russia and yes they agree with John McCain it seems.

But to claim that Russia doesn't have fair and free elections? what makes the CFR think ours is any different?

I think he is questioning the internals of the CFR.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

Its highly unlikely at this point i dont see the opposition winning even though they are no better then Assad Btw i have seen the Opposition little military tactic

They the rebels are using the artillery to shell Homs and then the opposition will just blame the attacks on Assad.
Its pretty easy to spot the tactic.

dont forget there are Christians in Syria who are supporting Assad for a good reason it seems.

As I said by doing so the Syrians will pump their value up and in the end when the Arab league and the Western Masters realize that they can not take over with an insurgence Russia will be there to take the blank check in return for a UN resolution as they have done every time.

I will never forget what they did when NATO bombed SR Yugoslavia.First they did not want to sell neither aircraft parts for the MIG-29`s nor would they sell anti aircraft systems.First they sold their veto power over the start of bombardment so afterwards they would land in Kosovo and take over a big part.We cheered that the Russians finally came so they can again sell us out and leave.

    Never await help from Russia.

    - CFR is a bunch of psychopathic hypocritical fascists, this is just another proof

    - Alexei Naval'ny receives funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (= US department of state)

    - Putin is a thief, but who is not in Russia Putin has a proven support of more then 50% of Russian population (all polls, I can also conform that from what I hear from people there). So all these election fraud BS is just irrelevant.

    - I looked at other candidates for the presidency in Russia, and I found 1) communist (Zuganov) 2) NWO guy (Prokhorov) 3) Clown and fascist (Zhirinovsky). So no wonder Putin has at least 50% support. He looked like the lesser of the evils. Unfortunately, Russia just like US, where 90% are voting for Obama and Romney , is not ripe for freedom.

    - And yes, Russia is playing business and diplomatic games, and off course they protect their interests, but at least their involvement does not include shooting and bombing people all around the world at the pretence of spreading democracy, and they for the most part tried to prevent US government from doing so.

Did I mention, CFR are crooks.

There are worse places. Many in the mideast and Africa, for example. At least in Russia just about everyone admits the cops and government are corrupt. Here there's a tendency in popular thought toward wishful thinking about the virtues of the regime. (plus, one has to be literate to graduate primary schooling there-whereas here it's possible to get a college degree and still be completely illiterate)

Didn't read all that you wrote but yeah, Russia is corrupt. So is the USA and the majority (if not all) of the governments of the world. "YOUR government is good unlike those other countries", atleast that's what your government tells you...all around the world...pot calling the kettle black. With time, power corrupts. But I thought we all knew that? Isn't that the point of supporting Ron Paul? To have a small government to keep corruption at a minimum?

Stephen Harper cheated our election with his damn robocalls! Plain and simple! I wanted Jack Layton! (Suuure, he was far-left, but at least some of his policies were a fews step in the right direction for liberties such as ending the War on Drugs.. Now we have TRUE socialists and neocons taking over the NDP, like Thomas Mulcaire! )

Well if the CFR is criticizing Russia, maybe that means Russia isn't bought and paid for yet.
A savage barbaric tribal society where thugs parade the streets and illegally assault and murder innocent civilians, yeah that is the alternative to having police. Oh wait, that is the police
