Thread: Will Israel attack Iran or succeed in pushing US into a war with Iran?

Default Will Israel attack Iran or succeed in pushing US into a war with Iran?

In post 9/11,Iraq war world Americans are incresingly apprehensive of wars, massive spending adventures abroad and enhanced gropings/police state at home. For 77%, gas price is biggest issue for 2012 election.

I put chances of Israel attacking Iran at 0%.
All bark, no bite, fears of a rain of retaliation.

I put chances of US starting a war with Iran at 0% also.
Whatever 1-5% chance there was of Israeli lobby activists in US pulling it off using plant Obama, Andrew Adler killed it.

Regardless of the reasons, where do you places the chances?

There will be War.. how it plays out is yet to be seen.

Right now all the players are being set and dance partners chosen.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

I agree. To me it could play out one of two ways. Pre election boost in support of Israel or post election "I have a mandate" rhetoric. Don't rule out false flags either.
“The state can't give you freedom, and the state can't take it away. You're born with it, like your eyes, like your ears. Freedom is something you assume, then you wait for someone to try to take it away. The degree to which you resist is the degree to which you are free.” ~ Utah Phillips

I believe Israel will attack Iran, and I support them in their actions because there has been long enough tensions between the countries, and it is time to settle it if Iran shows no signs of peace talks. If Iran does not resort to peace talks, then it will be their own fault for losing the war because their military is far more inferior to Israel's, and such a war would result in the deaths of too many innocent lives.

However, this war should be none of America's business whatsoever. We're broke. Let the British help them instead. They created Israel.

Wow. " because there has been long enough tensions between the countries,"
Mind explaining that? With actual dates and events.

All this with Iran is rather recent and seems to be initiated By Israel.

Not exactly,, but few look into the History of it.

Either way Israel are the provocateurs and they will drag the US in regardless. I am thinking it will be on the side of a false flag event that will start the whole ball rolling. I hope I am wrong, but this is a gut feeling and my gut is usually right about these sort of things.

Whose fault was it then for Israel's defeat from just one ragtag group in their last war?

Israel's only hope is to get US involved in a war with Iran and that looks extremely unlikely. This time around, there is no appetite among Americans to send their sons/daughters to die for a foreign state that never sent its son/daughters to stand alongside American on Iraq, Afghan wars frontlines.

With all the forces that are aligned against Israel in mideast today , Isreal as it exists today will not survive a regional war with its neighbors as it did few decades ago. Israeli report of 50,000 missiles aimed at Israel currently could be exaggerated but how could such a tiny strip of land defend against even one quarter of such a rain aimed at its cities or nuclear reators from 5-6 times more direct opponents it faced in 2006 Lebanon war that almost paralysed it and resulted in its defeat?
There is no realistic chance Of Israel attacking Iran.
