Default Romney, Santorum Stir Less Enthusiasm Than McCain Did

Mind you, they aren't even asking about Ron....

PRINCETON, NJ -- A little more than one-third of Republicans say they would vote "enthusiastically" for either Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum if either candidate were to win their party's nomination for president. Slightly fewer say they would vote enthusiastically for Newt Gingrich. This level of enthusiasm is similar to Republicans' feelings about voting for Romney in early 2008, but lower than the enthusiasm level for that year's eventual GOP nominee, John McCain.

Wow. Less enthusiasm than McCain? Looks like the GOP has a long 4 years ahead.

Enthusiasm had to be drugged and bound before it could be put into the same sentence as Romney
...John McCain... John McCain... now where do I know that name from.. oh yeah, didn't he lose something important to someone a few years back?
Man if this crop isn't doing even as well as he did

I think the poster above me has this nailed.

I don't know about the Palin dynamic this year. But I bet Mitt will pick a Christie or a Rubio, thinking that he is firing up "the base", but he will misfire and lose big time. Without Ron Paul, the GOP can't win.

Christie is a joke. Not sure if he won any new supporters when he insulted a Navy Seal a few days ago and called him an Idiot....

Less enthusiasm than for McCain? We need a new word for that... may I suggest "negthusiasm"?

That 'establishment' republicans are debating between Romney and Santorum is seriously hysterical, if it weren't for the fact that it's vital Paul becomes president.

I mean, seriously, who could be enthusiastic about Mitt? And Santorum? Ugh. Neither have any change at the presidency, and it's obvious to anyone paying attention. Obama generates massive passion - and even though he's pissed off a lot of Dems, they'd rally behind him to stop Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich.

Ron Paul is the only Republican that generates passion.
"Ron Paul, not going anywhere. Ideologically pure and tough as nails!"

ABO + NOBP = Ron Paul
    Romney - NOBP = Obama

romney is a walking black hole void of enthusiasm. when he walks into a room, all the laughter, chit chat, and frivolity is slowly sucked away from everyone in the room until everyone is sitting at a desk filling out spreadsheets and memorizing dictionaries.

seriously, if people are less enthusiastic about romney then john 'the maverick' mccain and the gop decides to not pick Paul, it is going to be HILARIOUS watching the GOP go down in flames against Obama.
